Solid... traditional American Chinese takeout. Good cheap eat! Enjoyed the chicken fried rice, orange chicken, and one of the platters. Full and happy after our dinner!

I've walked by dozens of times, and now that I've actually walked in I'm kicking myself for taking so long. Fantastic dumplings, steamed or fried, which I ordered for takeout. Twelve dumplings for 7-8 dollars. While you're paying you can see right into the kitchen...where the dumplings are being handmade, if you had any doubt. They're fantastic, and I'll be back soon, perhaps to get a couple orders. Parking can be found on the street or the nearby metered lot by CVS across the nearby intersection.More

My husband did quite a bit of restaurant research in the Boston area, and this is one of the hidden gems we found. Parking was available right out front and the restaurant was almost empty. Very interesting for a place voted top Chinese food multiple...years running. Only a couple tables to sit at and the bathroom is through the kitchen. The waitress was not super friendly. We had never had Chinese dumplings before, so we were excited to try. We ordered shrimp and pork, spinach, and beef dumplings. Our favourite was definitely the shrimp and pork. They were all good boiled, but probably would have been even better pan fried which is an option :).More

We ordered Orange Chicken, Sesame Beef, Pork & Scallion Dumplings, Chicken Kong Pau, and rice and vegies. Everything was absolutely superior, and delicious. Highly recommended.

This is a very small restaurant; most of their business is take-out. Take-out is what we had. The regular meals are somewhat better than average. Where they really shine is in dumplings and other Chinese pastries.

I always get the Genral Gau meal which is not bad (not a big fan of the rice) however you have to order Dumplings on Sunday as they are handmade and hand stuffed in the kitchen on Sundays. You will have to wait 20min but...they are so worth it.More

Hard to believe that in this tiny, family-run restaurant you can find absolutely the best Chinese dumplings you can find ANYWHERE. They are really small, delicate and flavorful, cooked perfectly whether you like them steamed or fried. Roast beef noodle soup and pea shoots with...garlic are also delicious.More

One of our chef friends put us on to this place and I have been coming here for years, mostly for bags of frozen dumplings to take home. I rate them as the best in Boston. Our Chinese friends love them because they remind them...of home style dumplings (except the hand made dumpling skins are better.) We go for lunch or dinner occasionally. The decor is a little worn, but it is clean and homey. Usually there are a few Chinese students hanging out, eating home-style dishes. The phone rings constantly with take-out orders. The food is cheap, and a little inconsistent, but really, it reminds me of places we ate at in North China, except less fatty and oily. (Don't order the General Gao's. This is a real Chinese restaurant.) If you are there go for dumplings, a soup, some of the homemade pickled cabbage (a version of kimchi). The owner speaks limited English, and giggles at my terrible Mandarin. Huge menu. By all means, order the dumplings. Buy a bag, frozen, to bring home. We always have a bag or two in our freezer. Pop a dozen into a big pot of boiling salted water. They are done in five or six minutes, when they float to the surface. Drain, dress with a little soy and chili oil so they don't stick together. Serve with a soy vinegar dip. We once served two different kinds, traditional pork and Chinese vegetable, 100 total to a group of 15 BLS students who ate them all in less than 10 minutes. They all wrote Wang's on the back of their hands in ballpoint pen. Really good....More

Was walking to cvs in magouns square and I decided to grab some Chinese at wangs .I walked in and the foul stench that hit me as I walked in was so putrid and disgusting I immediately started gaging so bad I had to run...out as fast as possible before I vomited. The decor was was a raggedy red carpet with decades worth of stains and old rickety broken brown tables. This place looked so unsanitary I would never recommend for some one to eat or buy food from here ..More

This restaurant is known for their dumplings and I can see why. They are homemade and delicious. I live nearby and Wang's is my "go to" place for Chinese take out. Have never eaten in the restaurant and not sure that I would. It's tiny...and dated.More
