Rene's is cash only, has no waiting area and will not seat incomplete parties. If you are going to have an issue with this great - the line just got shorter for me! If you can enjoy simple food under those conditions welcome to the best pancakes I have ever found.

I met 3 friends here on a Thursday morning at 8:30am.I arrived first and there were many empty tables. The waitress asked "how many?" and when I said "3 others were on their way" she replied by saying, "Wait until the others arrive and then I'll seat you." Wait where? There's no waiting area. Perhaps I should stand outside? I took... More

First visit to Renee's. I walk inside and am greeted by a waitress who seemed to be having a bad morning. Told her it was just me and expected her to tell me to take a seat at one of the empty tables. Nope! She told me to go outside and wait by the sign for someone to seat me.... More

A small corner shop, Renee's fills up quickly and there's frequently a line to get in after about 8:30 in the morning. Homey decor and friendly staff, really delicious food and reasonable prices make Renee's a local favorite. You need to try this but get there early!

Pleasant local cafe. The lox and cream cheese omelet had wonderful lox, but the cheese was one big lump in the middle, still cool. The home fries are nice with a bit of kick. The french toast and waffles are standard, nothing special, but kudos on the fresh strawberries. Any chance of getting fresh squeezed OJ?

Two blocks from Renee's Cafe and never went in in six months! Simply speaking, lack of judgement and patience on my part since I would refuse to wait online for breakfast. Yesterday my wife and I stood on line for about 10 minutes. We ordered omelettes, natural, not greasy, generous in size and of a smoothness that actually dissolved in... More

Very no frills & basic but the food speaks for itself! If you're going on a weekend morning, be prepared to wait (most likely outside) but the food is totally worth it! Very filling & delicious! Will definitely be back!

We had a really tasty breakfast, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs and an egg sandwich. Most plates came with hash browns. Everything was delicious, I just wish my breakfast was warmer. The hash browns were luke warm. Also, the coffee was pretty weak. Other than that, great breakfast! The food was exceptional!

Somerville has a LOT of breakfast/brunch spots, and plenty of lines to wait in. But if I'm going to stand outside in the cold to wait for brunch, it's going to be at Renee's. This isn't a fussy/fancy place, it's super basic, and the menus are probably sticky but the food is SO good. The staff is always friendly and... More

We used to frequent here, the food is good and priced right. The staff is has always been on the surly side but mostly ok. We went this morning with 3 small children. A sign read to wait outside to be seated, so we did. After a few minutes a man walks by us and through the front door and... More
