Been going here since I started working in the ville 15 years ago. I go intermittently but always enjoy it. Cream of wheat for a pre meal starter, so sweet and creamy, everyone remembers it. Large plates of food and sides! The house made bread is so excellent as only fresh baked bread can be. If I want to go... More

One of the best spots in Somerville to have brunch despite all of the new brunch spots opening up nowadays. The staff is friendly! I love the food--it is delicious, plentiful and still has a homemade feel about it! Family owned and run! You must visit if you are visiting the area, and if you live in Somerville, why haven't... This place is so good, I ate there twice last week and I live in Hartford, CT! My first visit was breakfast for lunch with my daughter and I had the Portuguese breakfast special. Authentic fare (I need to disclose that we're Portuguese), generous portions and friendly, attentive service. When I told my husband about it, we decided to revisit... More

Had a really good breakfast here with my wife. Great portions of food served with the choice of cream of wheat or fresh fruit, OJ and free flow tea /coffee. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the neighbourhood sparrows were on full alert for anything dropped!

Extensive menu. Went there for breakfast on a weekday, sat outside on the Patio with plenty of shade - very nice. It will be great on a Fall a.m. Not crowded, but I bet it is on the weekend. This Restaurant has been around for 30 years or more. Friendly and helpful waitstaff. I had pancakes with a poached egg.... More

My son and his two twenty something friends thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Seating was outdoors on the patio under a magnificent grape arbor (with an utter profusion of grape clusters hanging). We were immediately served orange juice and coffee or tea. Two of my companions had the grilled shrimp and garlic which came with plenty of French fries, rice,... More

Every time we travel to the Boston area, we make a point of eating here. The food is fabulous! Consistently good and abundant, breakfast starts with a free glass of oj and bowl of cream of wheat or fruit. (If you don't like cream of wheat, this one might change your mind. ) The portions are huge--the three of us... More

Having never had Portuguese food I guess I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly was not expecting it to be that good. Not only is the setting beautiful (patio covered with grape vines) but the food is amazing. Who knew that cream of wheat could be a highlight? And the portions were massive. You would be hard pressed... More

Huge quantities of great grub. Usually a wait... get there early. While you are waiting grab a sample of sweet bread and a cup of coffee. Worth the wait. Go for the cream of wheat! I think it's better than the fruit. These are offered as a started. Enjoy your meal sitting outside on the patio in the shade of... More

This charming little restaurant is like a holdout from days gone by, they provide you both a small glass of orange juice and choice of fruit or cream of wheat (fruit was a small wedge of watermelon) gratis before you even order. They have a wide selection of menus and their house potatoes are great. I enjoyed my Eggs Benedict... More
