American Barbecue serves up Southern-style barbecue and, according to many who hail for Southern states, gets it right. Perhaps their secret is that they smoke their meats before serving them up. There are several different sauces, so most people's tastes will be met. And there are a variety of sides including corn bread that will make a simple barbecue sandwich... More

I have visited this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. The menu offers plenty of options and the portions are very generous. I love their pulled chicken and my wife thinks their brisket is the best. The atmosphere is lots of fun and the staff is very friendly. Great for family dining!

A table of six and we all ordered something different and we all had an opportunity to sample each and every meal on the table. We were all looking to taste something cooked to perfection with a flare of originality " just didn't reach our expectations" . Can't say we didn't enjoy our food and we probably will return in... Perfect for when you want a home cooked feel to your bbq meal without the hassle of actually cooking. We order here often as it's quick, close by, and they have good food. Occasionally they are hurried when we call in takeout and the order comes out incorrectly (wrong sides, forgotten sauces) this seems isolated to one specific girl that... More

American BBQ is an excellent location, I go to the one in Rowley often. The pulled pork sandwiches, brisket, mac n cheese etc. The apple crisp is awesome. This place is very much on their game.

Small BBQ in the North Shore. Friendly Staff. Great selection on the menu. Nostalgic atmosphere. The BBQ was good, not amazing. Weird to see Mexican food on the menu. Would eat here again.

I live down the street from the American Barbecue Restaurant in Rowley MA. My fiance and I went there for dinner and found the food to be the best we've ever had there!! The employees that took our order were so polite, and the cooks did an outstanding job on the food. Also, when it was a bit slow, the... More

I encountered American BBQ when they catered an event at Nichols Village. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was okay. But the thing that made me really squeamish is that the person handling the money was also handling the food. Isn't that against some law?

New England can't seem to get BBQ right. Brisket is decent portion but not fatty like I asked, it's a lean sliced cut. Mac and cheese is standard at best, honestly needs something added to it pepper or bread crumbs and southern greens are ok. Corn bread was just okay too. If you go there it won't be horrible but... Stopped in here for lunch (by chance). Had a very generous lunch which was delicious. Had gone to Rowley for a wedding and coincidentally this place was catering the wedding the following day!! It was also excellent at the wedding. Make sure you have their corn bread!!!!
