Had flavorless unseasoned Duck Breast. The skin was flabby and the fat was not rendered. The acorn squash and the pecans where burned black. The servers answer was "that's how we make it" Our mushroom risotto had a long hair in it. The servers comment...was that all the Chefs are bald. Very disappointedMore

Alden Park used to be really good. However, the last couple of times we've gone, it has been a disappointment. The most recent visit finally pushed me to write them off. We stopped in for lunch and I ordered the special which was potroast. I...was given a piece of meat that was so overcooked and dried out that it was fibrous and hard. You could tell just at a glance that it was severely overdone. It never should have ended up on a plate, never mind, leave the kitchen. The steak my wife ordered was also well done even though she requested medium. Between the overcooked food and extremely long wait for our initial meals and a replacement for my potroast while the restaurant was essentially empty, I won't be going back.More

Average rating was generous. We stopped here with a tour group of about 41. Our group had three choices none of which were very good. Most everyone left their food on their plates. Our complaints of cold food were met by a female telling us...that our food could not possibly have been cold, yet it was it was. Even the coffee was cold and in limited supply. The fish and chicken entrees seemed to be frozen, not fresh. The risotto was not palatable. The stir fry was so spicy that some could not finish it. In short, the food was subpar. They need a chef with more expertise. I feel sorry for the locals.More

If I'd written a review for the first visit, it would have been 5 stars; the second visit only warranted 2 stars so the average is reflected here. My husband & I dined early on Thursday evening. Our server, Hannah, was terrific and the food...was positively delicious and well-presented. Hubby said that his swordfish may have been the best he's ever had. He was hesitant to order it because it was listed as Swordfish Chop and neither of us had ever seen it served on the bone. He was so glad that he got it. I had the Stuffed Shrimp: jumbo shrimp, chorizo & seafood stuffing, butternut squash puree, broccoli, remoulade sauce. Large serving and delicious (although, instead of the broccoli listed in the description, it was served with asparagus. I didn't mind, but I do think that it should have been noted that there's be a substitution.) Since we were so impressed with the above dining experience, we returned the following evening with our daughter and granddaughter. Service was just OK. Our waiter attempted to be humorous (Asked for a glass of milk; he replied no since we didn't include the request in our first beverage order. Ha ha. Of course, he brought the milk. There were several of these 'jokes'.) We ordered 2 appetizers: Crab cakes & Mussels. The two 2oz. cakes were delicious and were served with cole slaw which was also tasty. The mussels served in a garlic butter, lemon, white wine sauce were okay but they were small and, when I dipped the crusty bread in the sauce and transferred it to my plate, it came with a long, black hair! Eww. I immediately did not want any more of that (BTW, no one at our table has black hair.) When our waiter stopped by, I showed it to him and I asked him for a new plate. He replied, no problem. (It was a problem for me.) Hubby ordered the stuffed shrimp I enjoyed previously; I ordered the rack of lamb (smaller serving, but the lower price - usually expect to pay more for it - reflected it); daughter ordered the beef medallions (served not at all as described! Looked like a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup had been dumped on them. Unappetizing and unappealing. She tried one bite but sent it back.) Again, the waiter wanted to know exactly what the problem was because he had to let the "big guy" know so that he could remove the charge from the bill. She ended up with the rack of lamb to go since she didn't want to be eating when we'd finished.More

I'd like to say this was a wonderful venue for a group meeting but I can't since Brian and staff seemed disinclined to even return a phone call. 3 times I called and not once did anyone call back. Frankly I'm glad we avoided what...is sure to be a disappointing experience.More

Very disappointing Easter brunch. The staff were great, but with the exception of the prime rib, the food was very subpar. For $42/person, we expected much better offerings. From the bland, dry pastry table, to the equally bland and overcooked hot choices (scrambled eggs, mac...& cheese, fatty bacon scraps, plain chicken fingers, plain rice, boiled carrots…), tasteless salad & stale mini-dessert bites, far too much of it went to waste. It just wasn’t good. Surprisingly, there were no Eggs Benedict or Mimosas, and the appetizer plates brought to the table were lackluster- tiny bits of fruit, room-temperature shrimp cocktail and tasteless raw oysters served only with sides of ketchup and horseradish… We won’t be going back anytime soon, and definitely not again for a special occasion.More

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants where we went on average 2-3 times per month with 3-6 people per visit but no more. On Saturday 9/24 six of us went there for dinner. I spoke highly of the place so the others...looked forward to experiencing a new place. Our server Hannah was great so what happened was not her fault. We all had the grilled Caesar salads which were great. It sounds weird and that the salad might be limp but it is not. It has a Smokey flavor and the dressing is very good. Next came the main courses. One diner had the salmon and it had a very strong “ammonia” smell and the person could not eat it at all and did not take one bite. This is important because of what else happened. It was returned uneaten. Another had the prime rib which was a special that evening. He ordered an end cut. What was delivered was a rare middle slice. They apologized and it too was returned. They did come back with what they said was an end cut but it was not either! The diner took a few bites and tried not to complain and spoil the evening, but then had to return it as well. The center was very cold like it was frozen and microwaved to get cooked more but didn’t quite work. It was awful. A woman came by and apologized and offered us a round of drinks for the bad dinners. We then had desserts and coffee. When the bill came, it included the salmon and prime rib meals! They then came back with the salmon removed but not the prime rib! The manager came by and said he thought the diner took too many bites of it to be given a credit! What a rude guy. It used to be the customer is always right but not here. He pissed off a good customer who used to spend thousands of dollars at this restaurant but no more. He lost my business because maybe the diner took three bites of his dinner instead of only nine or one that they allow. Goodbye Alden. South Shore GuyMore

Ordered a nice cocktail off the menu for $33. When bill came, I was charged $62. No warning. Manager said the menu they gave us was just wrong- no effort whatsoever to accommodate. Twenty + time customer. No more.

Everything you could want in a restaurant: interesting meals without being too over the top, large portions, great bread, excellent service, large menu of interesting cocktails, and a tapas-like dessert choice (pick six out of 10 choices for small dishes). The meatloaf was very good...(reimagined so not like all the other restaurants, same with stuffed pork chops and a seafood pasta loaded with shrimp lobster etc and limonchello sauce. Braised short ribs very tender and huge. Our guests were there for the first time and could not stop raving about this place. .More

There were so many choices from the Valentine's day menu. I had the seafood lover. It was delicious. My wife had house made New England clam chowder. She said it was to die for. The wait for entrees were taking longer than expected because it...was a full house . We were there reservations at 9pm. Everything was worth it. Amazing job everyone.More

We both had the grilled chicken Caesar. Mine was supposed to have the romaine itself grilled, but I just got the chopped up cold version of the lettuce. As for the chicken it tasted as if it hade been cooked in a microwave. It was...tough and chewy. I really did not know you could mess up a Caesar salad with chicken. Who knew?!More
