Took a short ride up from CT for lunch, inducing a couple friends to come along with the promise of the house special whiskey bread pudding. Our group enjoyed the chowder, baked scallops in lobster sauce, and a mountain of onion rings. Would have enjoyed a broader selection of beers. But the bread pudding was the prize. Service was very... More

We stopped here after visiting Tree House Brewing, and we were hungry from standing in line for 2 hours. Arrived around 1 PM and the place was 1/2 full. I ordered a fish sandwich with fries, and my girlfriend ordered a lobster salad. They have self serve peanuts in the shell, so I got a bowl to munch on till... More

The Steaming Tender is housed in an antique Railroad Station in Palmer, MA. It has been lovingly restored, almost by hand, by its owners Blake and Robin Lamothe. We have eaten there since it opened and (full disclosure) I was their first bartender. The station is decorated with period artifacts and is on everyone's list as a venue for trainspotting.... More

My wife and I have eaten here a number of times with family and friends and it seems like the last two times the steaks have not met my expectations. The prior diner in November my rib eye was small and tough, this last time I had their prime rib special and again it was tough. If I do come... More

A few days ago, I traveled into Palmer, Ma to go to an amazing restaurant called The Steaming Tender with my wife and two sons. This was the number one spot my kids wanted to visit and see the trains go by. It was my second time here but it was my wife and my kids first time. The first... More

Took my parents to this place for lunch. There were improvements since the last time I was here. The building is nice; in an old train station. The dishes that were ordered were the flatbread special, Ruben, fish sandwich and the pot roast. The flatbread was good with chicken, avocado, and peppers. The Ruben was fatty but edible, so that's... More

Have been here before for the Brunch. It was good, not excellent. The place has a nice vibe about it and if you are lucky you can see the train go by when you are eating. Or you can go outside and see it. This used to be a place where they sold antiques and now it is a restaurant.... More

This afternoon my friend and I went to the Steaming Tender. We had been there once before and had a pretty good meal so decided to go back. My friend had the salmon, she said it was good. I ordered what I had ordered the first time...baked(??)fisherman's platter, which consisted of a few little shrimp, a piece of haddock and... More

I am very sorry that your experience did not meet your satisfaction. It would be most beneficial to know who your server was, as they are to address all issues with management. Our bread pudding is our signature dessert- our pudding is more of a bread pudding custard topped with a homemade whiskey sauce- it is definitely never dry! Again... More

We have been to the steaming tender for Father's Day brunch two years in a row and absolutely love it! The atmosphere is really unique and all the old decorations and architecture serve as a great conversation topic. The buffet food is delicious and there are lots of different choices. The staff is very friendly and the service is great!... More

This is a very unique restaurant. Old train memorabilia is everywhere even in the rest room. The restaurant is set between two set's of train tracks so don't be surprised if mid meal a freight or commuter train rolls by 50 feet from your table. If you are celebrating a birthday be sure to let the staff know they have... More
