Fantastic selection of coffees, desserts, candy and chocolate. Great stop for coffee connoisseurs and sweet teeth alike. Almost always mobbed, especially in summer but the lines seem to move pretty quickly. Their cold brew coffee is particularly outstanding.

When you want something hot to drink. And stop at Hot chocolate sparrows. Eclectic warm coffee shop. With free wi-fi (surely you want to write your new novel on Cape Cod - Kurt Vonnegut lived not far here. Try also jasmine pearls tea. And apricots in chocolate.

And best everything else, near as we can tell. It's amazing: muffins, cookies, sandwiches, soups, candies, candies, candies! I don't drink coffee, but every time we go I see tons of people enjoying theirs. Our family never goes to or through Orleans without stopping at the Hot Chocolate Sparrow.

My wife and I like the Sparrow but have this one complaint. Sparrow makes a lot of money. Why are you so skimpy with The amount of icecream in a Sunday or cone?? $5.50 for a Medium that looks like a small and $6.50 for a large that looks like a medium. I mean, they are good but very skimpy.... More

Have stopped here for latte, sandwiches and dessert for over 20 years. Quality and service are consistently good. However, I wish they would offer at least one vegan sandwich and a vegan dessert. Chocolate by the pound is excellent

Always an overwhelming decision time when confronted with the menu. Almost a case of too many options, which sometimes even confuse the cashier. Managed to get through the ordering process with some self-initiated summary after realizing our intended order wasn't communicated effectively. Plenty of sweet snacks to buy and even more coffee/hot-drink combinations to choose from.

Do yourself a favor and just make a stop here. Locals know this is THE place for a great coffee drink as well as an amazing chocolate shop. Tourists flock to 'The Sparrow' like sand pipers to the beach, so locals tend to avoid here during 'season'. The Frozen Mocha Sparrow is my fav and I always request an extra... More

Since 2000, when I first met Hot Chocolate Sparrow, I have been a fan. Every summer and occasionally in fall and spring, you could have seen me sitting alone or with friends or taking out some treat. The sandwiches and soups are terrific--healthy and delicious. One can also go all the way out with cakes, pastries, chocolates, and variety of... More

Stopped in late afternoon for a delicious iced hot chocolate with a slash of mint. Cold and refreshing. Also purchased four pieces of chocolates. Chocolates are very good but also a little pricey. Seems like everyone paid with a credit card. Great treat once in a while.

Thanks for the kind review. There was a large jump in costs of chocolate due to a large conglomerate purchasing many chocolate producing plants, and making alterations to the supply chain. Unfortunately this resulted in higher costs for everyone else. Credit cards for any amount are always accepted, but we prefer over $10 to keep the high credit card fees... More

Description
With the love of chocolate and a loan, we started The Chocolate Sparrow, a simple candy shop, in 1989 in North Eastham. Gradually we learned the art of making fine chocolate and the business of selling it. In 1991 we opened a summer shop in Wellfleet. Two years later in Orleans, we opened The Hot Chocolate Sparrow, a cafe complete with coffee from around the world, desserts of every indulgence, and our own hand-dipped chocolates. Here we could offer specialty coffee drinks in a sophisticated but welcoming atmosphere. We have grown into a local institution, open early morning to late night, every day of the year except Christmas. We created a place where people can connect. Our cafe is recognized Cape-wide, our chocolate is sent all over the country, and our coffee, desserts, and fudge have been voted #1 numerous times in various local surveys. No wonder we are recognized as "The Best on the Lower Cape."
