This place is great! Hands down best dark roast on the cape and we have tried everywhere. Nice people at the counter, fun ambience, it’s our definite stop before going to the nearby beaches. And they are active on insta which we appreciate! High five!

Went in for hot chocolate and stayed for some of their absolutely delicious confections!! There is never any problem in getting exactly what you are craving....even if you didn't realize you were craving it!!

According to my late Uncle Ralph, if it ain't chocolate, it ain't dessert. You will have no problem getting dessert here. One of our friends has been bugging us for several years to try this cafe. Our first foray was a maple walnut sundae for...More

Thank you for the great review! Yea not enough help or still training, hard to keep up with quick service tables at the rate people come in and out. If you see any employee (including myself) they can always be asked to wipe down a...More

This place is buzzing, and no wonder - awesome hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries, and chocolate. There must be 50 different drink items, including coffee done a dozen ways, hot and cold chocolate, smoothies, and a really good tea menu including some obscure varieties....More

Some gems of places seem to fall victim to their success, think it’s true here. Quality seems to be slipping as prices rise and quantities shrink. The crews seem less and less skilled as time goes on; not really sure if the owners didn’t cash...More

Nope, same quantities as always, all the same menu items available (we tried to shrink the menu to make it easier to order but found everyone has their favorites, so we kept everything the same). The owners did cash out... to their children who are...More

A friend took me there and she suggested the hot fudge Sunday, so good. My friend frequents this restaurant every time she comes to the Cape. I thought the Sunday was very good, but the chicken salad sandwich was even better. The reason for four...More

With the love of chocolate and a loan, we started The Chocolate Sparrow, a simple candy shop, in 1989 in North Eastham. Gradually we learned the art of making fine chocolate and the business of selling it. In 1991 we opened a summer shop in Wellfleet. Two years later in Orleans, we opened The Hot Chocolate Sparrow, a cafe complete with coffee from around the world, desserts of every indulgence, and our own hand-dipped chocolates. Here we could offer specialty coffee drinks in a sophisticated but welcoming atmosphere. We have grown into a local institution, open early morning to late night, every day of the year except Christmas. We created a place where people can connect. Our cafe is recognized Cape-wide, our chocolate is sent all over the country, and our coffee, desserts, and fudge have been voted #1 numerous times in various local surveys. No wonder we are recognized as "The Best on the Lower Cape."
