Had a great meal at Captain Linnell’s in Orleans last night. We party of five were celebrating the 26th birthday of a young lady—perhaps I have the digits backwards. We were seated at Table 24 in a small, tastefully decorated room between two larger dining areas. The fireplace mantel was topped with a ship’s lantern from sailing days. The rolls... More

This is such a wonderful restaurant in a charming restored sea captain's house. The dining room is beautiful and warm but we enjoy sitting in their garden room in the summer watching their fountain and the birds. Every meal we have had here over the years has been excellent with big portions. Their lobster bisque is the best I have... More

Many restaurants would have difficulty satisfying a group of seven people, especially when three of them are young children. After two visits in as many years I can say that this restaurant does it with consistency and class. The adults ate beautifully prepared steaks and seafood and the kids were overjoyed with their chicken fingers and fries (prepared by the... More

This place is a beautiful house converted into a restaurant. I sat in a corner table tucked away with a view of 2 dining rooms at the same time and a garden beyond. For appetizers I had lobster bisque - delicious. It was not thick or too creamy but you can taste the very flavored lobster broth with lots chunks... More

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a special evening. We were greeted very warmly and seated quickly. Our server was quite helpful, and made excellent suggestions. One of them was the rack of lamb. Only one word to describe this dish: exquisite! The halibut and prime rib were also terrific. Also quite reasonable for the... More

The perfect spot for our 40th anniversary dinner! Pretty table in their newer dining room overlooking the garden which was very romantic. Service was special and everything was delicious from appetizers to desert! A delightful dining experience!

We are thrilled we found the Captain Linnell House this week! Lovely dinner there on Thursday the 7th. All seven of the dishes we tried were delicious, especially the special Swordfish, and Tomato and Mozzarella salad. We had a window table and the view of the gardens is lovely. We will be back!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here. We tried to sit at the table where he proposed to me, but there was a private party in that area. The staff felt bad and gave us a beautiful table by the window. The food was amazing, as always, our server was friendly and thoughtful and the atmosphere was... More
