We both love the Captain Linnell House and had the pleasure of returning last week. The food was excellent as usual and the portions large enough that we both had half of our meal to take home with us. We ordered drinks, the Caesar salad, the roast beef and the veal and all were done to perfection. It was a... More

Perfect choice for a special night out. We started with their signature drinks which were excellent and the salad and entree didn't disappoint either. I had the choice salad and fillet with mushroom sauce which was outstanding. The other entree that was a hit was the scrod which my daughter raved about. The venue was beautiful which just added to... More

Had one of the best meals on Cape Cod at Capt. Linnell House on Aug. 14th. Every year for our anniversary, we reserve a table at this picturesque restaurant. Food is outstanding, the staff is friendly, and helpful, and the hostess and owner are the best. Best value on Cape Cod for a fabulous meal, fish was so fresh, and... More

Captain Linnell's is on the "Best of the Cape" list and it's easy to see why. The building is the spacious house of a sea captain. You enter the building into a foyer/sitting room and small bar. Ask to sit in the room which overlooks the garden with a fish pond. Staff is attentive and friendly. I started with a... More

Last night we brought friends from California to relax with us over a dinner that we knew would be wonderful, served by an attentive, professional, smiling server -- and we were right! The filet mignon was succulent and perfectly prepared as requested, as were the halibut and scallops, prefaced by the mouth-watering Appleton Salad and meaty clam chowder. Dinner ended... More

My boyfriend and I went to capt. Linnell for dinner last Friday, the experience was very disappointing. The problem was the bad piece of fish my boyfriend he was served - he (foolishly) ate about half before the effects took hold. I tried a bite and it was rancid. Our waiter was kind enough to take it off the menu,... More

The chef and I have owned and operated Captain Linnell House since 1988. We are sad to hear you did not enjoy your dinner as so many others have. Please accept our apologies. To clarify, our fish is delivered/ hand portioned daily. Nineteen other diners enjoyed the swordfish that evening and were delighted. Our staff is ServSafe certified. The meal... More

I attended my cousin's wedding at Captain Linnell House this past weekend and the event was flawless. Everything about it was beautiful. My son has multiple life threatening allergies and I am accustomed to bringing food with me when we (rarely) eat out. Shelly worked with me through email to create a plate for my son that was similar to... More

We went to our first dinner here as a party of 7. The restaurant itself is very pretty and the hostess and waitstaff were pretty fantastic. We had Molly as a server and she was very pleasant and attentive to us throughout. Personally we feel the the waitstaff in a tux shirt and bow tie is very dated and could... More

We have been dining at Capt Linnell House for 30 years, on special occasions, and have always had a memorable meal every time. (And so I find it incredulous to find a 1 star rated review purportedly by diners on the same Sat evening we were there. It's just not likely!) Our dinner, at a corner table in the Garden... More

Dined here on Saturday July 30 our 28 anniversary and it was wonderful from the time we entered until we left. When i made the reservation I asked for a nice table and mentioned we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Well sure enough we had a wonderful window table overlooking the gardens. Our waitress, Stephanie, was terrific, friendly and added... More
