My husband and I enjoy going to this restaurant! I’m vegan so it’s nice they have vegan dishes on the menu. The food is tasty and delicious! The service is awesome and staff is friendly! A must place to eat when on the Vineyard!

My husband happened to wander by the Pawnee restaurant as they were setting up for dinner. We never knew they had opened last year. It was our anniversary and he was out looking for a romantic place to celebrate. He spoke with a very warm...and welcoming man, which truly made the difference and took a peek at the menu. Voila! Our meal was extraordinary, the service outstanding and we can’t wait to go back next year. Kudos to Pawnee for a memorable evening!More

We stumbled there because the brewery across the street was packed and my vegan wife checked their menu displayed in the window. After quick glance at guest tables, we decided to order. All ingredients had excellent flavor and the dishes are unassuming, but well-executed style....The wine was good also and house-made limoncello superb. This is not to miss spot for all not just for veg lovers.More

This restaurant had a wonderful vibe to it! Our waitress was delightful, our food was delicious, and the atmosphere was delightfully eclectic! Loved it!!

You shouldn’t have to blame your self for dinning at a place especially because you know how restaurants work and MV works. I had to work 2 hrs at my job to pay for this none alcohol meal! 2 hours for what I m, a...customers get! Pawnee house, shame on you! I new after I sat down and was described the 2 items I wanted I was going to get the bottom of a can but an expensive can. Red beans and rice bowl!? Basic generic simple, no? . Portion of a, 10 can, of warm red Beans w can juice (can easily taste the metal taste of it), 1 oz cold collards, 2 large whole cold cherry tomatoes for 22$? Really? You couldn’t even soak and cook the beans you self? Peel the tomatoes, season it? Understaffed? Ok sure?!?! 4 of cooks back there?!! I fit the entire portion of collard greens in one fork stab! One bite, it was warm/cold too. Lol. Way under seasoned. Literally 2 hrs of my work life gone down the drain plus the hr experience at the bar. Bartender was nice, manager guy was ok too. No ones fault REALLY just going through the motions and a lack of caring or quality control. Trying to be fancy or high end. Just make tasty food! The price sucks but make it taste good. I’ve been on mv for a while people blame it on “our staffs tired, poor housing, busy, way to busy (you seat like 20 tops), understaffed, island prices, bla bla bla!” It’s everyone trying to work less, make more money, at the cost of customers vacation and the fact they probably won’t see them again. And the reviews will get taken down so!! Sucks for me, other people and the restaurant but it’s capitalism on Martha’s Vineyard. We went to Pawnee House tonight after having to walk out of Red Cat due to horrendous service. Luckily, they we able to accommodate us. We sat at the bar. Immediately greeted by friendly bartender who made us some impeccable cocktails. Had the asparagus tart...(fab) and the just so sweet seared Brussel sprouts. Did not disappoint. Then had the polenta with mushrooms and spinach (delicious) and the short rib tacos (equally delicious). Ample beer and wine list. Staff is so friendly. Food is obviously well sourced...super fresh and tasty. This is a place you just want to succeed but not so much that you can't get a table!! Socially conscious vibe. Respectful of COVID protocol. Definitely a 5+!!!More

The experience my husband and I had, along with our family & friends here was UNMATCHED. From the very moment we spoke to the owners Debbie & Alex, we knew The Pawnee House was the place we needed to have our rehearsal dinner. The customer...service was above & beyond anything we have ever received. The Pawnee House is an adorable spot, with a generous menu of delicious food. Chef & owner Debbie made us a perfect menu, that fit all of our families dietary needs- that didn’t sacrifice flavor or excellence. My husband and I don’t drink alcohol, and part of what we envisioned for the night was having welcome mocktails for our guests. We had over 6 varieties of custom mocktails that we got to choose from that were absolutely outstanding. We felt so seen, loved and taken care of. The amount of heart, detail and hospitality at The Pawnee House is extremely rare and special. If you are visiting MV, or looking for a place to host a special event, or just looking for a special spot with phenomenal service , food and drinks- you must stop by there. It’ll be your new favorite spot. We are so grateful and will be customers for life!!!More

This is a wonderful restaurant, but it’s small, so make a reservation or get there right when they open at 5. I had the chicken pot pie a d my wife had the meatballs, and they were both DELICIOUS! The prices are quite reasonable, too....Definitely recommended!More

When I called ahead for a table I wasn’t surprised it was booked. Alex offered to call me if a table opened up. Thankfully it did. Our meal was one of favorite. We enjoyed Brussels sprouts that were charred with a slight chili spice and...sweet from a drop of balsamic. Our flatbread dough had a buttery crust and was delectable, while the chili infused honey added an extra layer of taste. The polenta had a dusting of paprika which I could do without, but it wasn’t overpowering. The mushrooms were special. I generally won’t eat them, but these had a consistency and flavor profile closer to a calamari. The salmon Wellington could be the best meal I’ve had. The salmon was perfectly done, the dough crust the right balance of crispy and doughy. I generally wouldn’t comment on the tartar sauce, but it isn’t a condiment I widely indulge in. It was great. We left our table for a walk downtown and came back an hour later for French press coffee and a strawberry shortcake with biscuit. It too was unique and tasty. We normally wouldn’t order that dessert (strawberry cheesecake is more our speed) but it is worth trying. Enjoy!More

Let’s pretend you want a quiet dinner for your family. However, if your family is anything like mine, picking one restaurant is the equivalent of filling a bottomless ocean. You don’t want to and if you did, it would be impossible. Enter Pawnee House. Not...only do they have fantastic meat dishes, they have a variety of gf (gluten free) and vegatarin dishes that satisfy the palate of some of the pickiest eaters. Examples? Sure. Ten people ordered butternut squash soup one with a chili oil hit. I planned an order of brussel sprouts and balsamic vinegar and the short rib taco. Then came the entrees: butternut squash flatbread, an trio of spicy meatballs, and chicken pot pie. Reasonable priced. Highly recommended. I went to Pawnee House in May 2021 and again in July 2021. The food was so fantastic the first time that I could wait to go back. In May I had the delicious Salmon Wellington with vegetables and the yummy strawberry shortcake. In July...I had the Korean Short Rib Tacos which were amazing. I cannot wait to go back. They also have great drinks, and a really good selection of wine and beer. The historic building that was originally located there was a hotel named Pawnee house which has a really interesting story. The restaurant Pawnee House is not too big which adds to its charm. They also have bar seating and do take reservations which is great. Our server Tabitha was the best! The owner could not have been nicer too.More
