I haven't been to Sylvester's in a while and they have made some changes. There's a new interior layout with a couple of communal tables and scattered tables and booths. That doesn't feel quite right yet, with too much space in some areas and not...enough in others, so maybe that will evolve with time. They have also changed their service model, to more of a no service model. All of the staff were friendly, but on weekdays customers in the main dining area are now required to order and pay at the counter in the cafe area, and when your order is ready the food is brought to you. Ok, not ideal, but what was more disappointing is the expectation, as it was explained to us by a waitress, that you bus your own table and sort out compost, waste and recyclables into buckets near the area for dirty dishes. The food was surprisingly just ok compared to all of my prior visits, and was rather bland. Sorry, but the whole thing now comes across as a very overpriced cafeteria. Doubt I'll be back.More
Unique menu. Food was very good, Staff were very friendly and always attentive. Would recommend for lunch.
Also, had a great bakery right in the restaurant to view while you eat lunch. Hard decision to have lunch or dessert.
Stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to VT. Wait was quick, waitress was pleasant and food was decent. The place however needs a serious cleaning. There is no excuse for the amount of dust and dead bugs? on the window at our...table. It made me lose my appetite.More
On Friday the 13th I came there with my family of 6. Having recently been diagnosed with a chronic inner ear disease, Meniere’s.
It requires me to eat a no ADDED salt diet. I knew I could order eggs ( but not bread), but Savannah...and chef worked to help me get a salmon with greens— and oil and balsamic.
These people ❤️their customers!More
We are visiting from out of town and checked this place out from other reviews. The food was pretty typical quality for a breakfast place and a bit expensive for eggs and pancakes, but some interesting options. There was more room than you might normally...find at a breakfast place, it was accommodating for two kids and loud enough to cover their ocassi9nal squeals. It is very popular with a 35 min wait at 11:30 on a Sat. It stayed busy the whole time. There were trivial pursuit cards at the table, which is a great idea. They had crayons and a coloring page for the kid. Overall, a good experience, good food, and good for the kids.More
Even though my husband and I ordered eggs and toast we looked at other people’s meals and saw that they have great looking breakfasts. It is a popular place in Northampton which might require a wait on busy days. We just happened to be able...to walk in and be seated on a Friday morning. The server was nice and the meal came out in a timely manner.More
I have had some awesome breakfasts here, but this last time was very definitely a disappointment. I had the Pete's Wicked omelette. It was OK, but the flavoring was bland and badly needed salt. An order of blueberry pancakes was good on the pancake part,...but the blueberries were oddly very dry (obviously not fresh). Also, the coffee was weak and wait staff gather to chat in the kitchen and left customers unattended.More
We went in@10:30 in a Friday morning , full house. I was wondering where those people came from, Jess said it’s a Friday before Columbus weekend, no wonder!
The food is fresh and tasty, 3 of us finished the plate, only one had a pancake...to take homeMore
