I had a great time getting takeout dinner from here with my friends. Very friendly and helpful staff and nice atmosphere looking out at Washington street.

How often is it 65 degrees in Mid January? That's right, almost never. And what happens when it is 65 degrees in Mid January? Right again, everyone goes out for Ice Cream! Got to Cabot's around 7PM, lobby is PACKED with people. All waiting for...tables! Too bad for them, but great for me! Right to the counter, got a nice big scoop of Peppermint Stick (I have the taste buds of a 9 year old) with a dollop of Hot Fudge, and got change for my $5. Where does that happen? In and out in under 5 minutes, enjoyed my treat on one of the many benches on the sidewalk just outside the shop. So goodMore

Well this place has been here for over fifty years and is a well established family run business . The son and daughter run the business. Everything is old school from the helpings of ice cream to the soups, sandwiches and dinners. Always busy no...matter what type of weather it is! Always a cheerful smile from the other side of the counter form the host and the help staff. Everything is good! Just make sure you bring CASH? No credit cards. ATM outside the door. Well worth the visit anytime of the season! Expect a wait!More

Always leave room for ice cream dessert! What a wonderful selection. We definitely scored a table by choosing a Thursday at 5 PM. Chose a dinner and got a to-go box olin order to have room for a sundae. So many choices! Love the yoghurt...add on flavors. Nutella is my fav.More

A classic in Newtonville. Appetizing menu and great variety of ice cream. An oldie but goodie! Great for families!

Have been going there for over 30 years. The place hasn't changed one iota. Same layout, same furniture. May have replaced some with like kind, but it is dated. Bathroom is still upstairs and don't think it has ever been remodeled. Too bad for hadicapped...and if you have a bunch of children (as in a children's party), you will be out of luck. Help is friendly, and ice cream is still good, but portion size has shrunk and prices have increased, as it has everywhere. Parking can be a problem and occasionally have to wait. Have eaten food recently, but isn't quite as good as years past. Still a place to go if your in the neighborhood, Just wish they would remodel and improve brathroom access.More

Out of town family. Ice cream was ok but nothing spectacular. None of us got a sundae or milkshake. Just plain old ice cream. to quote my son he shrugged when I asked him how his CC cookie dough was he said, it’s ice cream.

After not having gone here for a few years, we went for a classic Sundae. Had to wait for a seat, even at 9:15 p.m.! Worth waiting for. I had the regular hot fudge sundae. Spoke to the owner who's worked there for 50 years....Thanked him for their consistent quality. With all the Friendly's going away, it's hard to find that great sweet sundae you crave.More
