The main dining room was dark&the tables to close together hard to have a conversation. The bar area was brighter &easier to have conversation. They added a Sushi menu & the food was as fresh as always. The new fish market was lacking every thing was prepackaged,

To be honest, Legals It’s about the only restaurant I trust when it comes to getting raw oysters or clams. Our relatives who were visiting from California, could not stop eating. Ended up having another large order as the main course. And also, I tried...More

Would not be right to visit the Boston area without making at least one trip to legal. The meal was great. Having shrimp and pasta combination. Waiter was helpful and informative. Great service for six for dinner. I am sure we will return.

Been here many times. Unfortunately food no longer tastes fresh and is not hot from the kitchen. Wait staff remains very nice but chefs seem to be mailing it in. Really unfortunate.

A friend and I purchased carry-out meals to share with a mutual friend who is home-bound because of medical issues. The clam chowder was the highlight, but the cod cakes were also good.

I have been going to Legal Sea Foods for years. The best and freshest seafood ever. You had to sometimes wait an hour for a seat but it was worth the wait. The food was cooked so well and I never had to send a...More

We dined here for dinner with family members on a weekend night. No issue getting a table without a reservation. We had broiled seafood dishes. They were very tasty, not "fishy". Service was good, but not overly attentive. Overall, it was a nice experience,

Upscale environment melds with the freshest of seafood. The wait staff took great care of us, and the food came out quickly and done to perfection. Their clam chowder was the best I’ve had in a long time. I’ll make a side trip to go...More

We had around 10 people for dinner - which was fabulous - help was great - and everything was 100%. Try it.

Description
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. One of our first restaurants and still a popular lure, we are located on Route 9 in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. We are still keeping things fresh at our bar, our open dining room and in our take-out counter and Fish Market. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
