I used to go to the original in Cambridge in the early 70's but haven't been to one lately. Came for lunch after 1400 and the place was not very busy. Seated and greeted we ordered and it took almost 40's for lunch to arrive. During this time not only did the server not return to our table, but the... More

This place may be a bit expensive, but it's so worth it. We've been here plenty of times and have ordered almost everything in their menu. They serve everything fresh. Of course, the clam chowder is to die for. I love this location because you can shop around the area too.

Went on a Thursday, table available for 6. We had 2 Lobster Rolls, Crab Cakes, Seafood Casserole, Shrimp with Pasta and a Shrimp/Crab Cake combo. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were given plenty of time to chat, enjoy our Salads and chowders and then our entrees. Prices are about 15-20% higher than comparable, less known establishments up and down the... More

My wife and I keep driving by from our appointments in Boston, it's been too early, too late, but today was just right! So we were looking forward to eating hear everyone raved at how good the seafood was, so here we go.. I ordered the Spicey Fish and Chips and a St Pauly Girls non alcoholic Beer and a... More

Legal Seafood is an outstanding fish market and restaurant. Fresh fish is expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and served professionally. The selection of fish and choices of preparation (grilled, fried, baked, etc.) is excellent. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. We have visited many times and have never been disappointed. The other locations seem to have the same good food and... More

Legal isn't a bad restaurant in the least. But you can get better seafood for the price. The best thing about legal is they are fairly consistent across the board. Their calm chowder is pretty good if your going to go (it's a New England thing)

Enjoyed a yummy lunch - crab cake sandwich and my sister enjoyed the Jasmine Special. She has a severe allergy to eggs, and they were very helpful and attentive to that. I always enjoy the delicious food Legal Seafood serves, no matter the location.

If you enjoy excellent ambiance and food, this is the place for you. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. During the dinner rush you may have to wait but it is worth it !

Great food reasonable prices you get what you pay for. The broiled or baked haddock or scrod are my favorite. Broiled scallops are great also. Portions are adequate and the setting and atmosphere are great. Very very clean restaurant and wait staff is superb. Every Legal Seafood is the same and have fresh and the best food. I stopped in for lunch around 2pm on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of free parking. It was very busy but the staff was happy to seat walk-ins. The place is bright and welcoming and there is fresh seafood on display. I had a delicious Nicoise Salad at the bar that was fresh... More

The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. One of our first restaurants and still a popular lure, we are located on Route 9 in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. We are still keeping things fresh at our bar, our open dining room and in our take-out counter and Fish Market. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
