I fine this place a little overrated for what people usually say about it! Wait staff is ok - the owners are rude

Johnny's is my go-to place for breakfast meetings (at least 3 per month). This is a 60s-style diner (including real pictures of high school classes from local school in that era), but with excellent food. Although I usually eat breakfasts there, the lunches and dinners are good, as well. The service is generally attentive. I recommend just about all the... More

This restaurant is in Newton Center. Despite its name, Johnny's is set up like a diner and stays open until 9 pm every night except Sunday. We recently arrived there at closing. We were prepared to go elsewhere, since they had just locked the door, but instead they welcomed us, even though there was only one family who was finishing... More

My son and I wanted to try a new place for lunch and found Johnny's on TA. We both really enjoyed our lunch. He had the Reuben sandwich and potato chips and I had the potato latkes with eggs and lox. Both delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We are absolutely planning on coming again soon!

My boyfriend lived around the corner from Jonny’s after college so he has been here plenty of times. Whenever we are back in town visiting we always stop in. We have eaten here several times and always had a great meal. There are lots of options on the menu. Service is quick and the staff is friendly. You never have... More

After passing by this restaurant weekly, we decided to finally give it a try. If you're looking for diner and deli food, this is your place! We had a combination of matzo ball soup, veggie chili and a hamburger. The quality and portion was great. I only wish I had room in my stomach to order the M & M... More

As soon as we enter, I liked it. The atmosphere is great, it seems going into an old time restaurant. This long corridor to reach the back of the restaurant's tables. I felt at ease and when we were served I confirmed my first impression, just great. We were a big family group of 12. We ate different things and... More

Sorry for no pictures. I did not think I would review this place, as have eaten there lots of times. But I have been there since it was sold last year (2014). I usually get the Rueben, omelettes, or salads. Good fare. Very consistent. But now to the NEW Johnny's. First, the design is slightly more modern, with many of... More
