A warm summer evening is the best time to visit Sol Azteca. The outdoor patio is colorful, and a great place to enjoy fajitas or enchiladas. Nothing too fancy here.

Second time we've been here and wasn't disappointed. Authentic, fresh ingredients, huge servings and great service. Everything came out piping hot and was delicious. Guacamole is AWESOME! A bit pricey for our normal dinner budget but location dictates price. Was well worth it!

Sol Azteca is cozy and inviting inside in the colder months, and a real oasis (hidden in an alley) for dining al fresco in the warmer months. This is not a fancy place, and the menu is standard and never changes, but it is consistent. The margarita selection is good, as is the sangria. The guacamole, tacos, enchiladas and other... More

Great place, cozy. The food is very good and accurate. Prices are ok. I recommend the beef and the guacamole. Margaritas, as well!

Visited Cafe Sol Azteca this past week and truly enjoyed the outdoor seating area! It's relaxed, comfortable and welcoming. The service was challenging as the patio was packed and there were only 3 staff on. Sadly, it took 10 minutes for our chips/salsa, 15 for someone to take our order and another 25 minutes for my friend to get her... More

Small and very friendly, this restaurant provides very good food although a bit pricey for Mexican. Cadillac Margaritas are great, so bring a designated driver if you want 2 or 3!!!

The food is always tasty but by no means outstanding. It is an attractive and friendly place. It is not too hard to get a table even on busy nights. When the weather is warm, get a table outside.

We met our friends here and it was a really nice dining experience. Café Sol Azteca is a bit hard to find -- you have to navigate your way in back of a landmark building in Newton Center, and it's a little bit of a maze. And then downstairs and into this cozy basement area that's nicely Mexican. But it's... More

An unlimited flow of chips and spicy salty salsa can ruin your apetite and make finishing a 3-dish combo a challenge. The plates are generous. The sauces are not memorable and the refritos sticky and dark with little flavor unless you add some of that salsa. The liter bottle of our drink had too much fruit juice and no fruit,... More

Tucked in a corner alleyway of Newton Center, Cafe Sol Azteca is a cozy and enchanting authentic Mexican mainstay for over 20 years. Featuring cuisine from the Mexico's capital you'll be won over by their cilantro and mole sauces that will make you think you just stepped back into the old country. A full bar features the classic requests of sangria, margaritas, and cervezas while adding plenty more like Mezcal drinks and their "to die for" Mango Mojitos. Nightly chef specials along with an extensive traditional and specialty menu leave your taste buds with plenty to experience. Catch them in the warm weather and join them on their outdoor patio featured on local television programs as the place to be.
