Lumiere has been one of my families favorite restaurants ever since we moved to Boston and discovered it. It was a wonderful family gathering place over the holidays. We were there recently and all the favorites were gone with the departure of Michael Leviton. The dinner was still very good but alas we miss the old Lumiere!

So our kind friend Sally insisted on taking us to lunch, because she had always wanted to try Lumiere. Four us of were seated in a lovely cream- colored booth, whose high walls made for privacy and a cozy ambiance. The swirling pattern on the comfortable banquette matched ruby velvet curtains concealing a farther room. The waiter was excellent: attentive... More

We enjoyed our meal very much My husband had the fish tartare appetizer and said it was excellent, as was my duck breast. My husband had a fish entree which was was also good. The roasted cauliflower side was disappointing. It was dry and not very tasty. The dessert, a chocolate torte with a creamy peanut butter topping was delicious.

Locates in West Newton - a store-front restaurant and once yo open the front door the quality begins from everything from the quality of the food to the service. This is not an inexpensive restaurant - possible what one would wonder a restaurant form special occasions. Considering the overall quality - the value is realized.

It is like a quaint bistro in France. The quality of the food and its careful preparation are obvious from the first bite. The servers have a wonderful suggestions if one has difficulty deciding.

Quality meals unimaginatively prepared. Nothing exciting in the dining room. We went to celebrate a birthday, having heard that it had a fine reputation, but found it boring.

6 of us had the prefix $75 six course menu. Great food, balanced meal, service was execrably as I like it, no drama and ready to adjust for our requests. Recommended!

Upscale but not over-the-top décor with lighting enough to appreciate beautifully plated courses and a knowledgeable and attentive staff made for a great evening. The tasting menu offered a wide variety of both ingredients and cuisines. Each was delicious and a culinary experience. Fairly priced for such a positive experience, and the staff happily split the wine pairing which seemed... More

We opted for the tasting menu with wine selections; the serving portions were perfect! Most of the service was great; one waiter in particular (and I forget him name) was amazing! There is a new owner (but same chef) and his dishes did not disappoint!
