Always a reliable favorite, the new chef/owner has great plans to enlarge the bar area and update the restaurant. Nothing more enjoyable and satisfying than splitting a bottle of red and sharing a meal at the bar.

YEARS wanting to come, and never finding the time to trek from Hudson. Years! Since Larry left our defunct Tomasso Trattoria. YEARS. So I found an early table, and booked it. Chris, another expat was in the house! And magic happened. Our server was "ok" a bit on the snooty side for me, and that is why I killed a... More

4 friends had a lovely lunch at this handy spot in West Newton. The waitstaff is very professional. The food was delicious. I believe that they recently started serving lunch. Very positive experience.

Lumiere has been one of my families favorite restaurants ever since we moved to Boston and discovered it. It was a wonderful family gathering place over the holidays. We were there recently and all the favorites were gone with the departure of Michael Leviton. The dinner was still very good but alas we miss the old Lumiere!

So our kind friend Sally insisted on taking us to lunch, because she had always wanted to try Lumiere. Four us of were seated in a lovely cream- colored booth, whose high walls made for privacy and a cozy ambiance. The swirling pattern on the comfortable banquette matched ruby velvet curtains concealing a farther room. The waiter was excellent: attentive... More

We enjoyed our meal very much My husband had the fish tartare appetizer and said it was excellent, as was my duck breast. My husband had a fish entree which was was also good. The roasted cauliflower side was disappointing. It was dry and not very tasty. The dessert, a chocolate torte with a creamy peanut butter topping was delicious.

Locates in West Newton - a store-front restaurant and once yo open the front door the quality begins from everything from the quality of the food to the service. This is not an inexpensive restaurant - possible what one would wonder a restaurant form special occasions. Considering the overall quality - the value is realized.

It is like a quaint bistro in France. The quality of the food and its careful preparation are obvious from the first bite. The servers have a wonderful suggestions if one has difficulty deciding.

Quality meals unimaginatively prepared. Nothing exciting in the dining room. We went to celebrate a birthday, having heard that it had a fine reputation, but found it boring.
