I was driving by and decided to stop. I was in the mood for a coffee and see if there were some interesting pastries. To my surprise, there were a number of savory pastries (which I prefer) in addition to the traditional sweat pastries. The...beef curry bun and the garlic knot ham and cheese bun were excellent. It is now on my go to list for morning pastries.More

I love this bakery! Everything I've tasted here is excellent. The really outstanding ones are the orange danish and the chocolate croissant. Excellent!

I visited Koko Bakery for the first time today. I work not too far away in Waltham and wanted a quick sweet treat before heading to work. There was amble parking in front of the store. Upon entering the store, I was surprised to see...how small it was. In any case, I was swiftly greeted by an employee who quickly took my coffee order. (an iced latte). I also purchased 2 chocolate chip cookies (absolutely wonderful, fresh, and moist inside), a ham an cheese croissant (very filling for a breakfast meal) and the most delicious chocolate croissant (worth the price of admission!) I warmed up the chocolate croissant in the microwave when I got home for about 15 seconds and OMG!! The chocolate tasted more on the semi-sweet side which I love. I will definitely be back for more chocolate croissants and to try other treats. They don't have a huge selection but what I tried was definitely quality and beautifully presented and reminded me of the bakeries that I visited in Japan.More

Wonderfully executed sweet and savory French pastries with a Japanese influence. Yummy classic baguettes and classic breads!

We've tried a number of their breads and pastries and they have all been very good. It's the breads that excite me the most. These breads actually have flavor. The whole wheat is hearty and rich in flavor and texture, for example. It's very small...and best in the morning when everything is fresh.More

I adore this place. Small and no seating available, but there is a pack across the street so you can take your treats to go. Every single thing I have tasted from this bakery is heavenly. It's as beautiful to look at as it is...to eat. Assortment of sandwiches daily, 80% and 100% rye bread, incredible pastries that you want share with your friends and family. I look forward to this place expanding or moving to a place that will accomodate seating. A hidden gem.More

Small shop in an out of the way location, but do go - croissants, cookies, pastries, french bread. Friendly staff, great prices, on street parking.

KoKo Bakery is excellent. They do a wonderful baguette (maybe even better than baguettes in France). Chocolate croissant was perfect. It seemed like they used a good quality chocolate and the pastry was flaky and light. I tried the blueberry scone. The scone was good...but I didn't enjoy the blueberry aspect of it. It was like the traditional English scones and wasn't too sweet. I had a latte which was the hottest coffee I've ever had. Once it cooled down, it tasted delicious. The staff are very sweet and hospitable. It's nice to see a new business in a somewhat depressed area of Newton. They have savory pastries and sandwiches as well, but I didn't try them.More

Delicious and varied pastries from classic and fresh croissants to imaginative Japanese-style goodies. Wonderful breads, the French baguettes are absolutely perfect. Also the granola is pretty much like candy -- or let's say, cookies. Easy parking and cheerful service.
