We've recently dined at Mission Oak on a couple of occasions this past month. Sadly, our experience has only been so-so. We miss their old menu offering an Oscar styled filet (with Béarnaise sauce, crab and asparagus). The new filet option with red wine and mushroom sauce just falls short. I love mushrooms and had to pick them off because... More

Terrible experience last week. I wrote to management, twice, to let of the problems, but no response from them. I ordered the fish tacos as the waitress said they were fantastic. I took one bite to find that the first one was completely raw, uncooked inside. It was just a chunk of raw fish- disgusting! The other two were cooked,... More

Love Mission Oak, have eaten here 30+ times over the past few years. The 1/2Price Appetizer deal on week nights 5-7:00 is fantastic. Quality food & Drink.

The setting in an old church is lovely, the menu extensive but the quality of food average. There was a mismatch between quality and price, we felt. The loudly blaring television right next to our booth did not make conversation easy.

We had a excellent experience at this restaurant. Came for dinner on a Wednesday night with the kids. Staff was friendly and our server Jessie was wonderful...attentive and suggested other things for us to do there with the kids. We ordered Newburyport Belgian White and we really wish they sold this in Texas...no skunky or bitter after taste. Crab cake... More

We came with a group of nine. One of the guests afterwards complained that the swordfish was dry. The half salad was too small. The fish tacos ok. The petit filet mignon was enjoyed. When we ordered dessert we did not get menus. The desserts were huge and lacking finesse and at close to $10 a piece are not worth... More

A renovated church is an interesting place for a steakhouse. Dark, modern decor without too many tv's blaring. (There are a couple near the bar area.) The menu is full of tasty selections. Seating is spacious, but reservations are your best bet. Space is available upstairs for a party.

Really fabulous seafood! Delicious seared tuna perfectly prepared with a soy glaze and assorted veggies and rice. They were very attentive to food allergies. The special salad with Kale, goat cheese, figs and pancetta was a delight to the eye. The mussels are excellent in a coconut curry and tomato sauce that really compliments the shellfish. We topped it off... More

We were looking forward to a great, high-end meal given the outstanding reviews and high-end prices, but our experience was sub-par. We loved the SEA SCALLOPS & SMOKED BACON appetizer, but was underwhelmed by the PETITE CAESAR salad. We were expecting a classic Caesar for a steak house, but this seemed like a bed of greens lightly tossed in a... More

Go early and order off the bar menu. Many good options. Weekends are busy and loud but fun. One of the better options in Newburyport.
