This is located right near the water and in a great spot. The service was so bad that we got our drinks almost 30 minutes after getting seated. 2.5 hours for lunch - only 4 of us. Food was OK. I would go elsewhere.

An unexpected off-season surprise . OK, I’d bet there is a huge wait in warmer weather, as there is a large outside deck... but you want to hear about the food etc. Great atmosphere, attentive service and excellent food at a reasonable price. Seafood and...More

We've been here a few times since the opening at the new location last summer. Cocktails on the deck in the summer were great. We have recently been a few times this fall and winter. The service is really exceptional, very friendly and fun staff,...More

The new location is beautiful. I joined a friend for a day in Newburyport, since we'd parked (free for the holiday season) right there we decided to try Black Cow. Gorgeous, warm and inviting space. Not too crowded since we were early. We sat in...More

Stopped in on a Saturday night for an impromptu dinner with one of my boys, home from college. We just needed a bite to eat - nothing major. The menu offerings were many & varied. Long wine & beer list. All good signs. Our bread...More

The black cow assumes to be an upscale eatery in Newburyport by the water. Service was fine portions were fine not spectacular. Management presence was nonexistent. And make sure you pay to park or you will get a $25 ticket. The restaurant does not but...More

It’s too bad owners are focused on profit over quality. Starting with the drinks. One of us got a martini, half full glass arrived, at 13.00. The sangria was slightly better at a 3/4 full glass so full of ice that it was hard to...More

The new Black Cow is really nice, much newer and much more chic than the original. No Three Stooges on the bar TV. Menu has upgraded too with nice choices. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was good and tender chicken. The remoulade...More

We were visiting the area for a few days. We had thoroughly enjoyed the old location for many years so were looking forward to checking out the new location. I’m afraid it was our first, and last meal at the new Black Cow. We had...More

The upstairs was reserved for drinks and apps. If they are opening a larger space they may accommodate your group. As an alternate venue look into Michaels Harborside.
