We went to Haley's on the recommendation from a relative and they didn't disappoint. Ice cream was rich and creamy and very good. Portions were not skimpy either. We had never been to Haley's partly because it is on a divided portion of Route 1 that we do not normally travel. When I mentioned this my sister explained they now... More

You can't pass up ice cream here. We first biked there. It is an easy stop off of the rail trail. All had hot dogs. The buns are toasted. The best. We later went for ice cream. Many flavors. Also have soft serve. Get a cup on a hot day. The cone will be a mess for kids. Trust me.... More

Haley's has great ice cream (a large selection) and decent burgers. Reminiscent of a 50's drive-in. Fun atmosphere Entrance is a bit difficult to find if you're coming from Rt. 1 heading north - you have to turn left at Parker St., then right into a small dive - look for the sign Easy to get to if you're traveling... The food is your standard fare of hamburgers, fries, etc. BUT, the extra thick frappes are to die for! I will never go anywhere else in this area for one. So thick that they give you an extra large straw to drink them. Yum. My favorite is coffee, but also available in any flavor you desire.

Haley's has been a fixture on US Route 1 in Newburyport for over a half century. The menu is classic New England road fare: Burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, ice cream and more. Diners may sit inside in a 50s-themed dining area or at one of the picnic tables outside. Note that this is a seasonal spot. Locals anticipate... More

Haley's is a 1950's themed burger and ice cream place. I haven't tried the meals -- just the ice cream. I look for sugar free ice cream. At Haley's they have 2 flavors of sugar free/ fat free ice cream. The coffee is absolutely wonderful. It's creamy and full of flavor. The kiddie size cone is huge. I have to... More

The kiddie size ice cream was large enough for two. The sandwiches were normal in size and also tasty. It is at the start or finish of a nice walking trail that is about 3 miles round trip.

This place is a tradition in Newburyport because it has excellent ice cream and good basic fried foods. The ice cream is delicious and the fried foods, like clams, scallops, etc., are done well. There is plenty of parking and there is plenty of well-lit dining space inside, along with a few picnic tables outside. We love it!

Just a bit shy of chili on the chili hot dog, but otherwise very tasty! Burger was delicious too. Our dog enjoyed the plain hot dog equally so :). They also offer a doggie vanilla ice cream cup with mini biscuit for $1.95 Lots of variety to choose from off the grill, appetizers, and daily made fresh salads. All very... More

Haley's has a legitimate claim to its 1950's decor. Haley's is a classic 1940's-50s style ice cream place located right on old Route 1 that used to serve the folks traveling here on road trips and vacations before they could speed by on Interstate 95N. Typical basic food - decent but pricey and takes a while - burgers, fried seafood,... More
