I have always found a seafood restaurant with a market does not disappoint, and that's certainly true of Turner's. It was so good, we almost went to the Salem location the next night. I had stuffed shrimp with a baked potato and rice. The lobster sauce over the shrimp was great. We also had the crab cake (HUGE) and it was full of crab. My boyfriend had the Lobster Pie. One negative to that, when he ordered it, the waitress said "you do know how much that is right?" It was $52. We didn't look homeless or anything so quite honestly, I found her statement to be quite rude and unnecessary. The only thing lacking was the baked potato, it needed to cook longer and come with something other than butter. You have to pay for bread, but do it, it's delish! The Chef's apple tart was excellent for dessert!

This was a nice historic atmospheric restaurant. We were served super fast which didn’t really allow us to enjoy each step. The wine prices are listed but the beer prices are only given a range of prices. That’s a little odd. So you need to ask after each beer you’re interested in. Oysters were fresh and good. But the lobster rolls weren’t very full for such an expensive price. Dessert was good. Service was fine. I’d try it again.

Wonderful dinner with family. Restaurant was packed on a Thursday night but were seated immediately as we had made reservation. Service was exceptional as was quality of food from the amazing rolls to the seafood, pasta, and sandwich entrees. Would definitely return.

I understand that restaurants have needed to adapt to the current conditions, and like many restaurants, they have moved their menus online. But they want you to do most of your ordering from the app, so the service level is way down. I can see them wanting to capture a credit card for people eating on the sidewalk, where it would be easy to dine and dash, but inside too? I get that sanitation is an issue, but this is still supposed to be dining, and asking the patrons to do all the work didn't make it enjoyable. Our server took good care of us, and since my wife has an allergy she took our order and checked that there would be no issues, which we appreciated. However, there are a lot of items from the old menu no longer available, in particular the Sicilian Pasta, which was our go-to. We ordered the shrimp cocktail which was terrific and got the crab cake, which was edible but overly salted, not as good as it used to be. My wife got the salmon pasta, it was actually bland. I got the linguine and clams, which was as good as always. Also, the beer and wine choices have dwindled down to almost none, they only offered one cab by the glass. We've been to a number of restaurants since things have reopened, and all the others have kept the experience almost the same as it was before. Unfortunately, it will be a while before we go back.

The atmosphere was great but the waitress could have been more attentive and informative. I ordered baked stuffed shrimp. I thought that would be plain enough with the stomach issues I have. When the food came out it was covered with cream or some type of white sauce. I was not able to eat it. Another issue is when my wife finished her salad another waitress came by took her knife and fork and did not replace them. Our meals came out and I had to search for a waitress to get a replacement. She was not easy to find. I have eaten there before with no issues. I spent a good amount of money and didn't ever eat. I do like it there.

We were seven for lunch, four adults and three children. All of us enjoyed our lunch very much. I started with a clam chowder, a New England specialty, and enjoyed it immensely after a few years of not being able to savor it due to Covid restrictions on travel. Then, of course, a steamed Lobster with melted butter - wow, how tasty this creature can be when it is simply steamed without any need for added flavors. Finally a pumpkin cheese cake with a generous helping of whipped cream rounded up an experience of shear pleasure.

My wife and I decided to try this place while we were in Melrose on recommendation of the people in the hotel. It was wonderful! We both had stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was cooked exactly right and was very wonderful. The stuffing was excellent with crab stuffing. Great service and the price was right. It was very crowded but we did not have to wait long.

The food tasted great and the service was good, however at about 2:00am my husband and I spent the next 7 hours violently ill. I am not sure if it was the oysters or if it was something else we consumed. Either way, not quite how we expected to spend our honeymoon. We won’t be returning.

Dear JAC, We are so sorry that you and your husband weren't well and we hope you feel better now. "Symptoms of foodborne illness, or food poisoning, typically develop within 36 hours of eating contaminated food, but they may not appear for days or even weeks after exposure." https://www.cedars-sinai.org/blog/is-it-food-poisoning.html. While most people attribute their symptoms to the last meal they ate, many times it could be food eaten before that meal. All that being said, we, fortunately, had no other issues from other guests and appreciate you reaching out so that we could re-inspect all of our offerings, We hope that you will reach out to us directly so that we can follow up personally. Please email linda@turners-seafood.com. Best regards, Kathi Turner

Nice local restaurant with terrific seafood. Tried the Finnigan haddie and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh oysters were also outstanding. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Only drawback is parking. Definitely would return.

Unprofessional waitstaff: First drink order was forgotten; the canned beer was served in pre-opened cans (cans like bottles should be brought to the table unopened, to be opened at the table) - beer had no fizz (was it sitting on the shelf in the kitchen, when somebody rejected the wrong order?). When taking an order for a straight-up liqueur, the waitress asked "are you sure?" questioning customer judgement. Yikes! When asked for a recommendation while choosing between three different entrée options, received an unhelpful "All are excellent" with no elaboration - placed order for Crab cakes - a big disappointment. Crabcakes entrée lacked any flavor and was oversalted. Mashed cauliflower side was good but it could not save the dish as a whole. Menu lists low alcohol beer ABV at 4% while the label has it 0.5%. Resulted in a canceled order. It was my first visit to the Turner's in Melrose. Probably the last one too.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Turner’s displays true definition of ‘great customer experience’. Seafood was fantastic and their customer service was top notch! When we flew in, our rental was not ready so we still had our luggage. Turner’s welcomed us in like family, 4 huge pieces of luggage and all, like it happened everyday. Our server Dennis took care of us like royalty with a great sense of humor. It’s just a great vibe all the way around! Thank you Turner’s for creating a wonderful experience!

Good restaurant, awesome seafood pasta. Good wine list and fun ambience. The handheld ordering system and waitress didn’t jive well, but good experience overall.

Have been trying to order out during COVID to help restaurants through this tough time. We had a great takeout meal from Turner's tonight. The fish and chips, crab cake dinner and haddock dinners were great as expected (after all it's a seafood place!). The surprise of the night was the chicken marsala that someone in our party ordered. They raved about it. The portions are good and the prices are fair - you won't be disappointed. If you go - try the pretzel appetizer they were fantastic and fresh!
