Very tasty fresh food

We ordered a number of dishes while standing in the restaurant. They were very sweet ladies helping us. Our order was to go. I double checked before leaving and everything was there. All hot and really ready to eat. I really loved the avocado salad. Fresh and creamy with fish roe. The shrimp fried shumai was very tasty. The chicken and broccoli was also very fresh and good. The broccoli was not over cooked. My grandson loved and ate all the mango maki and all the crazy maki. He loved them. My son in law enjoyed the Noboyaki Ubon. The steamed vegetables were delicious and completely all gone. Even though this order was for take out the people were all very caring and helpful. I would absolutely come back again.

Absolutely a gourmand’s delight.

We had ordered as a family once before. My review is below. This time we ate in the restaurant. Julie our waitress was terrific. Very helpful for my wife’s allergies and our grandson being vegetarian. We loved the avocado salad, very fresh and delicious. The seaweed salad as big as it is was lived by all we had to get a second order. My grandson had the vegetarian combo sushi rolls. He really loved them. We had the steamed shumai and the panfried gyoza. We really enjoyed both. The seven piece vegetable tempura was delicious. I think that there were more than seven pieces. My wife had the beef with broccoli. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. The beef was a very tender cut of beef and the sauce was delicious. I tasted it and everyone else who did loved it too. We shared a double spicy tuna maki. Just the right amount of spice. The lobster maki had nice size pieces of very fresh lobster. My son in law had pork Shoyu which he said was great. The portion sizes are very generous. We tend to over order but there was nothing left when we finished. Julie was very attentive without being in our way. It truly was a great experience and meal. We are planning to come back again while on this trip. I can’t wait.

Quaint Sushi Restaurant

We found this sushi nook when we went to see a show at Cavalier theater which is walking distance near the restaurant. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed some appetizers before the show. The sushi chefs and waitresses were very attentive and went above and beyond for a picky eater in the group. It is a quaint restaurant with parking being the same issue for anyone in that area. Would highly recommend the salmon sashimi it tasted so good.

Had the miso soup (excellent), avocado salad (very good), spicy crab and avocado maki roll (very good) and steamed shrimp shumai (good). Everything was fresh and well made. A very good option in Medford.

Great sushi

Our family enjoyed excellent sushi rolls in addition to solid Chinese food offerings. The waitstaff was helpful and very pleasant. The atmosphere was also nice.

Excellent food just there were insufficient host and waitstaff.

My wife went to a popular show in Medford on a Saturday night and booked Blue Fuji as it was close to the venue and well rated. We really enjoyed the food but needed to find someone to get us a table, then had to make sure our order was taken in time. Looking around at the patrons most were likely attending the same show. Hopefully the restaurant can monitor the local venue’s listings and plan staffing accordingly. All this being said we’d go back in the future.

Some of the best quality Chinese food, ever

There are many Chinese food restaurants and they all seem to produce the same mediocre quality food. But Blue Fuji is VERY different. They use all organic, white meat chicken and they never use any mystery meat. Their staff is very polite and friendly. There sushi selection AND presentation is incredible!! This is a top shelf Asian restaurant, definitely worth checking out!!

Don’t order takeout

I have celiacs and ordered delivery for gluten free spicy tuna rolls. Unfortunately it was absolutely TERRIBLE. They did not actually use any tuna in the spicy tuna roll. We had a roll and were shocked. It couldn't be that bad, maybe the first one was a fluke. We tried another and had one bite of a roll and could not finish, as it was 99.9% the crunch. We called the restaurant, heard them deny anything was wrong in the background on the phone, and then they asked us to send the photo proof. They also said once they received the photo, they would call us back. We happily obliged, thinking this would be a very easy remedy since they could not argue with an actual photo. Little did we know, this would start literally a 30+ minute text message argument with the restaurant! During which, they tried to tell us that we maybe had ordered the wrong item (sent a picture of the receipt which they also had a record of, of course), then they tried to claim it was normal, and then told me that their "real" gluten free customers would know. Not really sure what that means, but asked if they were trying to insult me. They also never called us back despite saying they would before hanging up on us, and choosing instead to text for 30 minutes. This texting continued despite us asking multiple times for them to stop. We do not trust this restaurant, and would never order again for fear of them trying to get revenge after our experience with them. Grubhub was fantastic and offered to call the restaurant on our behalf. The restaurant apparently told them they were unwilling to refund or remake. Included in this review is a picture of our spicy tuna roll, and the text exchange. If you are looking for gluten free Asian food, including delicious sushi, we recommend going to Fuji at Assembly. NOT this embarrassment of an establishment.

Phenomenal food

Blue Fuji's food was phenomenal. We loved our food. Our only criticism was that the appetizers and entrees were brought at the same time. Service was very good; portions were large, and the atmosphere was very nice. Our dishes included mushroom soup, hot and sour soup, scallion pie, shrimp and vegetable tempura, shrimp and broccoli, spicy green beans and jasmine rice.

Dinner on a Friday Night

Excellent sushi, pleasant atmosphere, a great way to end the holidays. Had the Party Boat for Two, shared by three adults. It was really enough food but ended up getting more just because it was so good.

Don't go if you know real Asian food. Can't understand why the high ratings (?)

Admittedly I've eaten at Tsukiji, and that's not expected here - but many Japanese restaurants offer reasonably authentic and delicious options in the Boston area. This place is without a doubt the worst I have tried and I wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone who knows Japanese food. Food is just terrible, hate to be so blunt but it just is. Being across the way from Ebisuya Japanese market there is no lack of ability to purchase authentic ingredients. However the preparations are horribly off target and frankly, we were surprised that it gets good ratings even for Medford Sq. You can even get decent sushi at Ebisuya. Playing it safe with a spicy tuna roll got us a maki filled with some concoction of mystery meat mixed with panko bread crumbs as a starchy tasteless filler (see photo). There was no identifiable fish meat and we threw it out. They insisted it was tuna. I am sure it was not. Cautiously ordering tempura resulted in ebi-furai (panko breaded deep fried shrimp) vs. shrimp tempura, totally different preparation, mixed in with poorly cut vegetables in a pasty tempura flour batter - a mix of panko and floury tempura together in the same dish! I am sure the shrimp were of the frozen prepared styrofoam placard variety. The sauce was a thick salty undiluted dark liquid with no fresh grated daikon to dream of. Since pan-Asian includes Thai, we ordered the safest thing but even the pad thai was really bad, the sauce no where near authentic, and the shrimp were impregnated with other flavors that made me think they were washed off and reused from another preparation. Lastly, another safe choice - vegetable fried rice... made my homemade rice deserve a Michelin star in comparison it was just not good at all. This is dumpster dining, hate to be so blunt but unless you are totally unaware of good Asian cuisine I would try Toraya, Green Papaya, or Chang Sho instead and give up on the one-stop shopping approach since the food is just not up to par in any category.

Small but Delicious!

This restaurant is excellent. I have eaten there twice and both times we were seated immediately and treated very well. The food is fresh and delicious. If you like Sushi and you are in a hurry, this is the place for you. They do not rush you out and it still has ambiance if on a date.

Hidden Gem for a Delicious Lunch

Stopped here for lunch with a close friend who lives in Medford. This was her first visit as well and we were anything but disappointed. She is a borderline vegan and I am not and we both left satisfied (along with leftovers)! We ordered soup, tempura, noodles, sushi and ice cream - everything was extremely fresh, nicely presented, included generous portions and very well priced. Highly recommended for a quick bite or longer meal.
