A classic old-fashioned New England fried seafood place with outstanding views. Good service, good food, good drinks. It's small, and be ready to wait during the busy season. Food isn't inexpensive, but portions are big.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at the Barnacle while visiting Salem in April. It was quite busy the night we visited but our waitress was still attentive to us and recommended seats overlooking the harbor since we were not from the area. All of the food we ordered was really well prepared and oh so delicious. But that view,... More

Great staff and very good fish and chips. Some great daily specials. Wonderful view of the harbor from the restaurant, the bar and the outside deck.

We have lived in town for ever and have avoided this touristy spot on the water. Having a yearning for lobster we decided to check it out the other night. Well, it was pretty disappointing with its frozen shoestring fries and small tenders of haddock! Didn't get the lobster as they didn't offer lazy mans. The staff was pleasant but... More

Great local haunt. Perfect for lunch or dinner. Not fancy but the real thing. The front bar can be a little sketchy but that's half the fun. Especially during a storm and boy do we have storms! As the pix show you can sit literally over the water. Watch the kayakers or get inspired to rent your own around the... More

This is a great place right on the water. There is a deck and try to get a table there when the weather is good, of course. Steamers are spectacular. Fried Claims probably are my favorite.

We popped in last Sunday and it was just great. It had a tiny little bar but it was full of people having a real good time which is great to see... good on them!!! The service was great and the clam chowder and fries were delicious!!! We'll be back!

This visit was a mini reunion. So there was quite a bit to celebrate after meeting former students who now live in Marblehead. Unfortunately, because of a power outage, that evening there was no heat. We made do. It was Twin Lobster night and we took advantage of it along with steamers. Excellent. Not terribly noisy considering and we stayed... More

A bit crowded and no draft beer. Staff and patrons are very nice. Good atmosphere and view. Did not have food but heard it is good.

This has to be my favorite casual restaurant in MHD. The service is always fast and friendly. I've tried a few items but my all time favorite is the lobster roll. The option to mix onion rings and fries is great for people who can't decide on one or the other! Also on a cold day their soups are a... More
