First time visiting the market and food court. I love ramen, and spent a week this summer in Japan trying as many ramen places as I could. I got the Heaven ramen - tonkotsu broth, which is typically made with pork and/or chicken bones. It...came with a poached egg, char siu pork, bean sprouts, and other veggies. Overall, it was a decent bowl of ramen. Far better than instant, but it did not blow me away such that I would vow to return. I liked the noodles the best. They were relatively thick and had a good chew, which is what you want with tonkotsu broth. The pork was disappointing. It was dry, and had very little flavor. I did not taste any of the flavors you would expect, like hoisin sauce, five spice, honey, soy, etc. As far as the broth, it was pretty good. Clearly home made. It could use a bit more seasoning or something else to put it over the top. For $9.95 it was a good sized bowl of ramen for lunch. Glad I did not get the larger size.More

I went there for a Sunday lunch. It is located within the 99 Asian Supermarket food court. We had the Katsu don and the heaven ramin. Both were only average, at best. The ramin was very plain and did contain enough meat or toppings. The...prices were high for just average food. If the quality was high, then the prices would be OK. I will not be returning. But I will try the other restaurants in the food court.More

I don't think Malden offer cheap Japanese food but here. There is only three Japanese restaurant in Malden. I been to all season in Malden is good but I find it very expensive! also Sousaku Bistro Japanese Tapas & Bar too! a main entre is...around $20! I come to Kakkoii for cheap eat, is not perfect but hey is better than most Asian food in the area, I tried Katsu don and it taste great! not traditional but I like it. Ramen is not Japanese style, the soup is not salty but I enjoy it. I didn't try to the sushi, I rather save that when I visit restaurant just make sushi. I was recommend this place for anyone want cheap and good taste Japanese food.More
