We have gone here a few times. Every time, the meals are delicious.. The restaurant has that old world charm to it. Nothing overly fancy, but the staff and food are what make people keep coming back. Beautiful views of the ocean and boats. Well worth a visit.

This Classic restaraunt may be a little worn around the edges but clean and bright with view of boats in the yard outside. Classic seafood with a semi active bar scene. I got the stuffed haddock. Nice serving comes with salad, veggie and potato. The stuffing was just crumbs and butter, for some reason I thought the stuffing had some... More

I'm a city-dwelling snob. Based on the worndown suburb location and appearance of this place, as well as the seniors crowding the parking lot, my expectations were quite low. This is one of those throwback places that take me back to family dinners as a kid. Very old school New England family seafood restaurant. But it was Saturday night and... More

Good selection of seafood and great service. Party of 7 left very satisfied. I had a seafood casserole with lobster scallops and shrimp. Not too heavy on the bread crumbs and full of excellent seafood. Also appreciated the craft beer selection on tap.

We had a party of seven family members for dinner here on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Attentive service, even while waiting for the last stragglers. Friendly hostess and serving staff. Nice selections, mostly seafood related, as one would hope for at a restaurant named the Porthole. Seven good meals, no complaints at... More

This has long been a family favorite when returning to the Boston area. The clam and scallop plate was excellent, cooked to perfection. The scallops were sweet and tender and the clams were fresh and tasty. It is almost worth stopping here just for the bread. Ask for extra when you leave it makes the best toast.

We visit my daughter and brought lunch from the Porthole, we called ahead. We ordered Claim chowder, Cordon blue, two Stuffed Haddock dinner and an order of Onion rings. Everything was good but needed some improvement. The Haddock was delicious, but the stuffing for the Haddock was just off to the side I couldn't find or taste the scallops. The... More

Service was great! Have been here a few times and the waitstaff is always friendly and attentive without being pushy -- a great combination. Food is good - nice place to bring parents / grandparents when they come to visit - definitely appeals to an older crowd. Great ocean views - don't skip the bread basket - tasty sesame crackers!

This is a gem that more people should find. Food is exceptional. Service is good. It is easy to find just off the Lynnway (Route 1A, North) in Lynn, Massachusetts. This was my second visit. This place is an icon and has been in Lynn for over 40 years. The food is good. I can tell the seafood is fresh as well. A little pricey, but large portions They cook it The way it's done in New England. Its consistent and doesn't disappoint. The service was fine as well. Yes,... More
