Upon the recommendation our hotel we went for dinner at Frankies. It was our first time here and we were thrilled with the entire dining experience. The ambiance was soothing and warm, being in a converted home. The service was exceptional and attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the fish special of Artic Char which was cooked to perfection and had a beautiful blend of textures and flavors. One of the best fish dishes I have ever had. For appetizer, we had the Calamari Fritti and Mozarella Fritti which was a hit with the younger members of our party. Both were cooked to perfection and flavorful. Finally, for desert the chocolate gelati was the perfect finish to a great evening. Very few restaurants get right the blend of ambiance, service, quality, and value. Frankie’s has found this and perfected it. My highest recommendation. Thank you Frankie’s for a wonderful experience.

When the bleak New England winter envelops the Berkshire hills in snow, cold and gloom, the fair-weather tourists are in one of their vacation houses in some warmer and sunnier place. That's when the restaurateurs offer some fantastic deals to draw in the folks who are still around. Remarkably, neither the exceptional quality of the food nor the high level of service are diminished at all. That's why my wife and I were happy to take advantage of one of their weekly 3-course dinner specials this week. We were absolutely blown away by the superb salads, entrees and desserts we enjoyed there. Better yet, the prices were reasonable, and the ambience was appealingly warm and comfortable with none of the perennial "high season" annoyances. I must tell all you locals (and any well-behaved tourists who might be lingering in this area), Frankie's is unbeatable, even in the winter.

Frankie's is an outstanding, friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant that offers healthy options (including excellent gluten-free and vegan selections) in addition to more traditional, delicious Italian cuisine. Food is fresh, well-prepared and moderately priced. Wines are carefully selected. This restaurant is great for couples, families, solo diners and friends. The owner and her staff are talented, kind, and extremely professional. This restaurant has heart (and great food!) We're glad to see Frankie's is offering curbside pickup for takeout orders during the pandemic, including food, wine, beer, and family meals.

The quality of the ingredients is high; however, it's expensive even by "tourist town" standards. My main issue is the way some dishes were plated. I had the trout almondine. The trout was served on top of the sides, which includes potatoes au gratin. Unfortunately, stacking them this way led to the trout's over-abundant butter lemon sauce soaking the potatoes. Everything on the plate became a mush of butter-lemon flavored food. Also, the trout skin was so soaked in the sauce that it was soft, fishy tasting and inedible. (Good fish should not taste "fishy.") Maybe this is by design and the skin isn't meant to be eaten. I confess I may be ignorant in this regard. The same problem occurred with the chocolate lava cake dessert. The warm cake was topped with vanilla ice cream which was half-melted by the time it reached our table. It ran together with whatever chocolate "lava" may have been inside the cake, so I couldn't even find the lava. Simply moving these sides to the side of the plate when plating would solve these problems and make for a much more enjoyable meal. My dinner companion had the penne pesto. It was average. The pesto was not thick enough to cling to the pasta so a good deal of effort had to be made to get pesto flavor in each bite. It was more like oil with some basil in it. Service was excellent.

On a summer Thursday evening, with a reservation, we waited an inordinate amount of time to order and be served. We only ordered main courses. They arrived an hour after we did. The bread and dipping oil arrived after the main courses. The eggplant parm was delicious. Maybe try earlier in the week in the summer.

Did curbside pickup at Frankie’s because of the pandemic. Amazing!!! My wife ordered the Chicken Picata special meal with house salad and I ordered ala carte Veal Picata with Calamari and Caesar Salad. They also provided bread and threw in vegetable soup as well. For desert my wife had pound cake with chocolate sauce. Who knew that simple desert would be so amazing. The online ordering was amazingly simple and well thought out and the pickup was fast and simple. As Tanglewood 2020 and other Berkshire staples are off because of the pandemic we want these great local restaurants to survive. There was a car picking up before us and one right behind us so our prayers and thoughts are with them. It certainly won’t be the last time we make a special evening with pickup with Frankie’s. Highly recommended!!!

The hostess was unwelcoming and the waitress was rude and unhelpful about a food allergy issue. One heater for the entire outdoor porch in cold October. Food was good but overall left with a negative impression due to staff.

This was completely spur of the moment after a service in the area. The hostess advised they were booked for the evening. While we were waiting for two seats at the bar to open the hostess said she has a table for two if we could finish our meal in an hour and a half. We said that would be fine with us. We spilt a Frankie salad as an appetizer and they served it in individual bowls, that was a nice touch that is not done frequently anymore. We both felt like veal so we got one parmigiana and the other piccata. Both were tender, cooked perfectly, and delicious. The piccata came with green beans and gratin potatoes. The parmigiana was served over linguine with house marinara sauce which was delicious. We got two perfectly packaged deserts to go in order to free the table up with time to spare. The tiramisu, house made, was fantastic and traveled just fine. The next time we are going to be in the area we will make reservations and go back again. Every dish we saw go by looked and smelled amazing. The service was excellent. I would call this a true old school Italian restaurant ( that is meant as a big compliment)

The staff and food at Frankie’s are outstanding. We missed our reservation by 15 mins because of our play running over. I called ahead to let them know and they were very understanding and accommodating. Our server was outstanding as well, very friendly and attentive. If you are a vegetarian there are many options for you on the menu, including a separate vegan menu. My wife ordered a vegan mushroom pasta dish and was quite happy with it. I also had a pasta dish with mushrooms, pancetta and cream that was quite good. For dessert we had brown butter cake with strawberry sorbet that was delicious. We started things off with he grilled artichokes that were as good as everything else. So why not a 5? Two reasons. First, we ate in the front dining room and it was quite loud, due largely to a wine-induced bachelorette party and the general noise from the bar. Second, our table was in a high-traffic area near the server station. Every time someone walked by, which was often, our table shook because of the old floors. We ended up sliding over a couple of tables as the crowds emptied out, which helped. Tip: Eat outside on the deck if weather permits

We ate here while staying in West Stockbridge. We asked someone working in a small shop where was the best place to go for Italian, and she told us about Frankie’s. So glad we went here for dinner....everything was superb! Food and service! My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I opted for the scallop and pasta special they had that night. Hubby ate all of his, but I could barely put a dent in mine as there was so much! The waitress said, when asked, that the pasta was homemade. So, so good! Would highly recommend!!

We went here because of all the great reviews. Our server Shauna was sweet but she never brought us bread which we had to ask for. My wife ordered beet salad and trout. I ordered burata then veal Marsala. My wife’s order was good, not bad not great just very average. The burata was very good a nice presentation. I ordered the veal Marsala because it came with polenta. The other veal dish I wanted didn’t come with polenta and Shauna told me no substitutions. I could get it for an upcharge. I get the no substitution rule but if you’re getting a similar entree that has the same side it should be no big deal. The veal Marsala was one of the worst I ever had. The veal was very tough and the Marsala was tasteless. It was so bad I didn’t finish and I always finish. We passed on dessert why bother it can’t be any better. If you really know Italian food, cook it yourself or are Italian do yourself a favor and stay home or go somewhere else.

Frankies was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the Berkshires and we couldn't have been happier. We had 5pm reservations and they honored them without a hitch. This was my wife's birthday dinner and over the course of our meal a whole bunch of their staff wished her a happy birthday. Our waitress gave my wife three samples of different wines to try because she was undecided on which to get. She chose the house red and was extremely satisfied. A carafe of water was put on the table as well. We both ordered the trout which was outstanding - moist and tasty. My wife subbed polenta for potatoes and loved it. For dessert we split a yummy tarimisu along with very good coffee and tea. I should note that as dessert was being served a false fire alarm went off and everyone was asked to leave until the fire dept came and gave the all clear. It just added to a most memorable great experience and we absolutely will be back.

Food was mediocre. The icing on the cake was while eating my chicken Parmesan I began to notice the chicken tasted rotten. It was like 1/2 of it was rotten. I had a bad taste in my mouth for hours after I ate. The service was slow. We needed water refills and finally had to get up and take the carafe to someone to refill it for us. Our waitress never came back to the table. She brought our dessert and should have clearly seen our water was empty. Never asked if we needed anything else. A local resident had told us the restaurant was hit or miss. Wish we had listened and eaten somewhere else.

This is my and my husband's favorite restaurant in Berkshire county. We've loved every food we've ever ordered, and we love the cozy aesthetic whether we're eating inside at a table, at the bar, or outside on the porch. Wouldn't change a thing about this place, and we recommend it to others all the time. Our favorite dish is the Penne alla Frankie's. It's vegan and soooo delicious! But you really can't go wrong with anything the menu, in our experience. The salads, specials, and dessert are always awesome. Highly recommend!!

I've been here in the past and enjoyed it. Came back this week after a few years and although some things have changed such as the expansion of outdoor dining the food has stayed the same. The food is awesome. We had the polenta sticks and the arancinni as an appetizer. We both thought that they were fantastic. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and I had the veal Frankie's which is a cutlet on a bed of polenta and spinach. Unfortunately we were to full from dinner to have dessert. Looking forward to returning soon. FYI I recommend that you make a reservation. A lot of places in Lenox have cut back on the days that they are open so there are fewer places to eat.
