Coastal Green Grocer is a sweet little spot right downtown. Their sandwiches are great, and they have a nice selection of fresh fruit, veggies and specialty snacks. Their cheese selection, however, is what makes this place really special. Everything they carry is delicious with many...unique offerings. We had amazing customer service when ordering party platters, and those platters were the talk of the event. I want to plan another party just so we can order more of their fabulous platters! Great place!More

Was expecting more from this established grocery. Ended up selecting a couple of nice cheese wedges that's it. Felt like they were doing customers a favor waiting on them, floor tiles really tired , broken. Asbestos I imagine. Not a repeat.

This is a wonderful little grocery with specialty cheeses, great sandwiches which they'll put on the press for you, good salads, and Great Soups! All to go, you can grab a piece of fruit, some bread, a drink, etc. and you've got a picnic. I...love their soups, and they carry a wonderful italian cheese with truffles, yep, it's expensive, but so worth it. A great little place that deserves our supportMore

Coastal Green Grocer opened its doors probably about the same time the stock market tumbled - maybe a few years sooner. those of us who immediately supported and appreciated its thoughtful and fresh offerings figured it could not survive. But to our total delight, Green...Grocer hung and through the slump, presumably attracting more 'clients' and building loyalty. More than anything else, this is my go-to shop for fabulous cheeses, with someone who really knows his stuff making smart recommendations and cutting the piece for you. But Green Grocer also has excellent fresh breads, imported cookies and sweets, freshly-made sandwiches, - and of course, given its name, very good fresh produce. This is not a place to find a bargain, but it is well stocked shop with a really nice and knowledgeable owner.More

I was visitng Ipswich, MA as I come from the original Ipswich in the UK. I stumbled accross this place because someone was sitting outside eating. I didn't realise they did sandwiches, etc. I popped in and grabbed a great sandwich. Sat outside and watched...the Ipswich folk go about their daily business. I only had take out, but I think if I were a local I would like the other "on the shelf" products. Very friendly and nice folks.More

The cheese selection is the big plus for this shop and the sandwiches seem to fuel many of the local business people. It's a place to find things not readily available elsewhere near Ipswich. I love being able to find baby brussels sprouts and baby...spinach as well as good artesian breads and other goodies.More

Gourmet, but not snooty, many European products and a focus on healthy food. The "greens" are a little hit or miss, depending on what's in season, but there is a superb collection of cheeses and many other delicious items that are hard-to-find, including yummy chocolate...chip cookies from Southampton (anyone remember Kathleen's?). But the best reason to go is the sandwiches, which are unique in-store concoctions and far better than I can describe or you can imagine. I suggest you give it a try.More

it's a nice grocery store with fresh fruits & vegetables and great sandwiches, you get quite some snacks, chocolates etc. from other countries - but it's definitely not the cheapest place
