We stopped by the Clam Box on our way back to Marblehead and had the best clams I've ever tasted. Order the native clams--not the clam strips--and make sure you get a big box because once you taste them you'll be hooked!

We live in NJ and make our annual weekend "clam run" to eat New England seafood. The first stop is always the Clam Box. Never disappoints. And they know how to make a tasty cole slaw to go with their famous fried clams. Fortunately, we were able to order big bellies before they ran out.

I have been here many times for clams and my mom, gets shrimp. I was here for a third weekend in a row. Mini hancock plate faint smell of ammonia, of course batter, and fried hides smell some. I would advise never order haddock.

We went on a weekend and were able to get the large big bellied clams (fried). They were the best clams I have ever tasted. Enjoyed their other fare as well. Portions were very large. Go early to avoid a long line. You have to wait online outside in order to eventually get inside to place your order and then... More

It's as simple as this. There's no better place in New England for fried seafood. Especially their clams. End of story :)

This is a tourist trap, they get high ratings but are over priced and lines are long. Many places in the area that are better food. No table or bar service either.

Best fried seafood available anywhere. Only negative is the length of the lines waiting to get in. Food is excellent.

Lived in MA my whole life and finally visited the Clam Box in Ipswich. My wife and I love fried clams and have had them from almost everywhere in MA, including Woodmans, Arnold's, Legal Seafoods, Farnham's, etc. The Clam Box fried clams are EXCELLENT!! Nothing else needs to be said. Service is a bit slow, but I think that it... More

Just returned from my first visit to the Clam Box in Ipswich, MA. We arrived at 2:25 pm only to find out that the restaurant was changing their frying oil at 2:30 and there would be a 15-20 minute delay in ordering. At first we were not happy, but once we realized our food would be cooked in fresh oil,... More

This restaurant is located out of town so you have to drive. Also, because of the size, there is a long wait to even get a table.
