We went to Zabaglione on a recommendation from a local person. The food was delicious but the service was horrible. After the waitress brought us our food, we never saw her again. She never asked if we wanted more drinks or how our food was,...which as stated above was delicious. After our plates were removed, I had to flag her down twice to get our check. Will we return? Probably, but hopefully a different server.More

Fantastic real Italian restaurant that always delivers great classic Italian masterpieces. Recently had a great octopus salad and puttanesca pasta — will be back

Calamari Picante app is a generous portion, was interesting and good but not sure if I'd order again. Has cooked lemon slices in it which looked like squash in the dim lighting and I was surprised with a bit tart and bitter bite. Maybe I...would reorder and just avoid the lemons :). My husband and I shared it along with the salad, it was quite filling and the calamari was perfectly cooked. Salad (Mista) was fair, could've used some shaved parmigiana but a great source of fiber and nutrients :). Chicken Broccoli Ziti, my husband enjoyed. I got the special Lobster fra Diavolo and it looked impressive. The waitress highly recommended it. Unfortunately, it was mostly shells (lobster, clam, mussels) and was a lot of work to eat. The lobster was on the soft/mushy side. Flavor was over powered with parsley and couldn't taste the sweetness of the lobster. The tomato based stew was on the bland side. Definitely wouldn't order again. Was expecting San Francisco level of flavor but was not even close. It wasn't busy on a Monday around 5:45 so the chef came out and said hello from the doorway. We had to flag the waitress a couple of times as she kept looking at the TV. Would go again and try different dishes. Maybe will stick to the basics :).More

We sat at the bar which was comfortable and warm. Our entrees were delicious. I had Lobster Fra Diavolo and my spouse had Osso Bucco. Would recommend this spot...

Zabaglione has reopened after a short hiatus. Now at 1 Market Street in Ipswich and completely remodeled. Dine at a table or at the new bar. Chef Michael prepares all meals to order so please be patient if they are busy. We usually order wine...and an appetizer while he prepares our meals. Meals are incredible...small town gourmet and moderately priced.More
