The food, the atmosphere and the owners are Top Dog!! Yesterday, I went with my niece. She ordered a burger and I had the Veggie Burger on marbled rye bread. They each came with a choice of sides. We shared sweet potatoes fries and home...made potato chips. Both were delicious! It was the best Veggie Burger I have ever had. Large enough to bring half home with me. Great atmosphere , wonderful service and extremely safe during these Covid times. I have not eaten out for many, many months for this reason. I am glad we chose The Brown Dog in Ipswich. Thank you!More

A friend and I went out to catch up - haven't seen each other in months. It was quiet, nice atmosphere. The server was pleasant and attentive. The food was good. The surprise feature, however, was that at 7:00 someone started booming over a microphone...something about trivia. We had no idea this was going to happen; it wasn't mentioned on the website. We weren't interested in playing, and knew we wouldn't be able to hear each other given the volume of his first announcement, so we paid and left. So while the food was good, and I would go back, I would only go if I knew there wasn't going to be such a loud addition to the evening. I highly recommend they post their events and start/end times on the website.More

We’ve been a few times and I’ve been remiss in not writing a review. This isn’t gourmet cutting edge dining rather it’s good solid comfort food that you can count on. The Reuben is superb. As are the steak tips. Our test for a restaurant...is how they cook the vegetables and Brown Dog does them very well. Last night’s asparagus were perfect. We keep wanting to try their desserts but we’ve been too full. Maybe next time.More

Grabbed lunch on a busy but wet Saturday, Friendly staff and a simple but tasty menu were just what we needed. Service was quick and efficient. The food was hot and well prepared. Excellent Turkey club sandwich with hot crisp french fries plus soup and...salad. We skipped desert but these looked good too.More
