I was reminded on this website that I had initially reviewed the Portside in December of 2017. My review was positive, and so is this one. While so many restaurants closed their doors permanently due to COVID, the Murphy family continued to pay their employees...and build an inviting outdoor patio seating area before reopening. It was refreshing to read my previous review of entrees my son and I had enjoyed, but this one is based on simpler fare -- namely pizza and soup. Recently I read an article about how the Portside is garnering notice for what we in Massachusetts call "South Shore bar pizza." Basically it's a 10-inch pie with a thin, crispy crust popular in Southeastern Massachusetts. Portside has brought this tradition to Cape Cod, albeit with some refinements such as house made ricotta cheese, white anchovies, and cured olives as opposed to simple black ones. I have tried one with mushrooms and anchovies, and another with ricotta and cured olives. Both were excellent. And the beef barley soup -- though pricey even for a modest portion -- is wonderfully accentuated by real prime rib in the mix. Definitely worth a trip.More

Delicious food and great staff made our night out excellent. We had some food allergies and they responded with care and attention. Social distancing, fire pit and great drinks.

Went for dinner, no problem being seated. Social distancing in effect. Service was good.. The lobster bisque had good sized chunks of lobster, but it was thin and not served warm enough. The half wedge salad was perfect size, but the fried onions on top...were stale. The Baja shrimp were excellent, but the Mac and cheese was mushy. They were out of many itemsMore

Best pizza! Service was great! Great atmosphere (we ate inside because a family that came in after us said they were us). Their strawberry margarita was delicious made with real strawberries. The bar pizza (we had cheese and hamburger) was the best bar pizza I’ve...ever had! The fries were made with the skins on... delicious!! Would definitely recommendMore

Asked waitress about "salmon special" specifically what was on it. She told me crab! I was excited as i haven't seen much crab on the menus on the cape . We talked about it for 30 second or so. My dinner arrived with pistachio and...some greens and a few mandarins! I asked "where is the crab we talked about" she said " oh I guess it doesn't come with it" $26 for a 4 oz pice of salmon and some greens is unacceptable to say the least. Don't bother going.More

While staying in Hyannis, Cape Cod we had a lunch at Portside Tavern. If I have to put all my thoughts in a short paragraph, we loved everything about this place. The food is beyond amazing, the waiters are very friendly and the portions are...really big. The money they charge absolutely worth the food you get. I got a mezze platter, one of a few vegetarian options, which was super delicious. I strongly recommend this place to visit.More

We just had lunch at the Port side Tavern in Hyannis our waitress was Cailin. We got the Buffalo Chicken Nachos As an appetizer, I got the Chicken Milanese for my entree, my husband got the Pork Carnitas. First of all, Caitlin was a phenomenal...server. She dealt with our questions and was attentive, and her customer service skills were excellent. The nachos were AMAZING. The meals were of a quality we would have expected for a $50 a plate price point, but were half that and served in a casual atmosphere. The produce was PERFECTLY prepared, fresh and tasted like it was picked right out of the garden. We got a chance to speak to Jason and then to his father, the owners of the restaurant to let them know of our surprise at the impeccable quality of their food and service. This restaurant is slightly off the beaten path in Hyannis, but if you’re looking for AMAZING food, this place can’t be beat. And because I am an infection control nurse, I can also report that they are doing everything right. Bathrooms are PRISTINE, they are cleaning tables and surfaces with the appropriate chemicals and mask wearing is mandatory for everyone from the servers to the owners. We’ll DEFINITELY come back to this restaurant. I highly recommend you try them out. Outdoor seating is available!More

The Murphy family provided dinner for our daughters wedding this August 2020, which we hosted at our home. Honestly you would have thought the meal came right out of their kitchen into our backyard! The dinners were delicious as always, and the service provided was...excellent.More

One of the best restaurant I’v been for a while, Nicole provided amazing service and the manager was very nice , the food was delicious - specifically the wage salad , Ahi tuna bowl and one of the best marinaded stake tips I tasted for...long time. We finished with a good chocolate cake for my wife’s birthday on the house. I’m a huge critic on food and service, this place definitely reminded me that there are still places with proper service that really cares and an interesting variety of affordable unique and tasty dishes.More

I actually gave the restaurant a three, not a one. That was because I felt the food was just OK, along with having one dish sent back and one that just wasn't very good.
