We were looking for an informal and good place, especially for seafood as a replacement for Cookes (what a loss!). This place is a good option. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is large, good parking. Note, it is on the north side of...132, so from Rt 6, it is easiest to go via Attuck's Rd, as you can't make a left onto Airport Rd when heading toward the rotary from Rt 6. They have. decent but small list of wines, drinks and beers. The dark and stormy she had was generous, as was the glass of wine. A very nice clam chowder. She had steak, he had Chatham scallops. Both were of good value and delicious. A satisfying meal. We will be back.More
Nice and cozy, the decorations are so cute. Food and service here is amazing ! The lobster roll is a must! Pasta was delicious. Brian was very nice and was able to accommodate all our requests. I highly recommend this place.
We have driven past Barbyann's many time and finally decided to stop for a late lunch. You enter into the bar area which also has tables to sit at and the dining room is in front of you. We were waiting to be seated for...a bit until someone on the bar side asked where we wanted to sit so we chose to be by the fireplace and we were seated. Our waitress came over almost immediately and took our drink orders and then came back for our order. Our food came out quickly and both of our orders, a salad with grilled chicken and chili cheese dogs were both good.More
Visited with a friend to have my Birthday lunch. I haven't been here in years. Nobody to greet you or seat you. No hostess. Decor is dated and it needs a good cleaning, but, our waitress has been there forever! She makes the place...smiling, knowledgeable,...interested, attentive. The menu has also been the same forever. We were both pleased with our meals...presentation, size, taste. Yes, we would go again.More
We were upstairs in a room just for our party. It was very comfortable and the perfect size for our party, probably about 40+people. For the size of our party, our service was great and we got our food and drinks in a reasonable amount...of time. The clam chowder was delicious and many in our party agreed. If you have nothing else, order the chowder! I had the bousin burger which was cooked perfectly and a unique take on the cheeseburger. Everyone's food looked very good and our party had positive things to say about there food. Definitely recommend!More
This off the beaten path restaurant is a best kept secret in Hyannis. Not only is the service great, but the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Will definitely go to again in our next trip back to the Cape.
My husband, son and I came here. It was 8pm and they said the kitchen closed at 9. That they would be happy to serve us -we ordered and were done with dinner at 8:39 pm - at which point we asked for a drink...and coffee -Our waitress Lee said she would but it involves making it fresh because she emptied it. -we said thanks and we would take the check in advance and be out by 9, but can we take her up on the fresh coffee, we had a 1 hour drive (mind you it’s 8:39 and we were NOT asking for food) I was a server and would never do that. -she then reiterated that she would have to make a new pot ....We said yes please and thanks -THEN she said, well we have a cleaning team coming in for the kitchen...I did not ask for food from the kitchen. She just wanted us out. -we said never mind, we’ll have the check -THEN she brings the check and says “sorry but we aren’t a late night place 1-It was not 9. I always leave 22 percent and I could not bring myself to do it. 2-All the staff were having drinks at the bar as we walked out at 8:43 We just wanted coffee. Never going again.More
This was a planned meal stop on our Cape Cod bus tour itinerary. Third & final night in town brought us here for dinner. Hostess seated us upon our arrival. Waiters/waitresses swarmed us to take drink & meal orders. Salad was brought out within 5...minutes after meal order was taken. Meal came out within 15 minutes. I had the baked salmon served with steamed vegetables & baked potato. Following dinner strawberries & ice cream were served as a dessert. The salmon was astounding & flavorful. Came with a tangy dipping sauce. Nice atmosphere provided. Make this one of your meal stops while in Hyannis.More
What happened to this place. It used to be a great family type place with good food and a nice atmosphere. Now on a Friday night at 7PM in August on Cape Cod it was empty. Just 2 tables occupied including my family. Place looks...run down and old. Food as OK, nothing special. Sorry to say staff looked about as rundown as everything else. So disappointing.More
It’s not on Main Street in downtown Hyannis but it’s worth the short drive to Barbyanns. Great food, superb service and a relaxed atmosphere all combined for a memorable dining experience. The sirloin tips with mushrooms were cooked as ordered, tender and very tasty. The...homemade desserts are to die for. I recommend the strawberry shortcake. Take the 5 minute ride from downtown to Barbyanns.More
In Hyannis to gas up the car before the snow flies tonight. Decided to stop in for dinner with my hubby. The waitress sat us by the fire. Perfect ambiance! Warmed us right up waiting for our dinners. The bread plate was perfect. Cranberry bread...was scrumptious! My hubby had the roll. I ordered the broiled schrod with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. Everything was cooked to perfection and the fish was fresh. We are spoiled on the Cape! Our waitress, Leigh, was very friendly and helpful. Always a great place for fresh fish. We were in the area and stopped in. Outstanding service, generous portion size and excellent quality. We could not have been happier with our dining choice today. I will return.
Our food was mediocre, the atmosphere older but fine. Our waitress was great..Not her fault that the kitchen didn't have enough food for some of the advertised specials. probably wouldn't return but it was ok.
A friend suggested meeting at Barbyann's for lunch because Hyannis is halfway between our homes. Well, I have definitely found a new place to go. I had a salad that was tasty and plentiful. The staff was cheerful and accommodating. It is off the beaten...path but worth finding.More
