Friendly staff, great fish and chips and sampler. Would return for sure. We ate outside and enjoyed the scenery.

Consistently excellent food and service. Primarily offers extensive seafood dishes along with beef and chicken dishes. Private, club atmosphere and decor. Music available outside in season. Love it!

I notice there are over 2300 reviews so I will simply report our experience. I had the clam chowder (good and thick as stew) and the pan seared lobster & boursin cake. Both were very good. My wife also had the chowder but got baked/fried...fish tocos which she said were pretty bland and tasteless. I guess it was :cape" cod :-) She said she should have gotten the fish breaded and deep fried. Regradless, along with a pint of Cape Cod Red, it was a good meal even though it rained.More

We ate on the patio for an early dinner right before Memorial Day. So not too busy yet. Great food, good service, great views. Try the clam chowder. It is expensive but worth it.
Thanks so much for your review! We hope you'll stop in again soon.
Stopped on a recommendation. Food was good as well as the service. Free parking for customers which is good. Everywhere else in the town wanted a whole lot of money to park to explore the town. Clam chowder was good as well as the seared...tuna tacos and the fish tacos. After lunch we left the area. It looked nice but I wasn't paying $28 dollars to park.More

They advertise Chowder Championship. I'm from Boston so have certain expectations. Anyways, I paid almost $13 for an ahem, "BOWL" of clam chowder to go. Well, what to my surprise when a SMALL CUP of clam chowder did I produce. I was like, "Really???" What...is a cup, a shot of clam chowder, seriously. The worst was that there was not ONE good piece of clam in it. There were barely miniscule pieces of clams that if you didn't know what it was, you'd never know. BEWARE!! Never again!More

Ordered the giant lobster roll and to me it had no flavor. Not impressed. Also did not enjoy the ambience where we where seated. Dark and crowded. Ate here years ago and adored it. Perhaps the outside dining made the difference.

We always enjoy the food here. This time I ordered the scampi, thinking traditional. But when I received it it was loaded with tomatoes. Who puts tomatoes in scampi? Everything else was super yummy. It won’t deter me from returning
Thank you very much for your review! We're sorry to hear your dish wasn't quite what you expected, but we look forward to seeing you next time.
The place was suggested to me as a seafood restaurant but the menu was pretty standard. I had fried fish tacos. Tom and Padma (Top Chef) would not have been pleased because they were impossible to eat without things falling out and juices everywhere. The...flavors were nice though. Came with bag of chips. Staff everywhere. Nice view of harbor across the street.More

I like the Black Cat very much! I sat up at the lovely spcious bar by myself. Since I live on Cape Cod, I have come here for several years. The Server's were attentive and friendly. I got the Cod....with vegetables and baked potato. Plenty...of veggies and baked potato. Although the Cod fish was delicious the portion was small. For the price, I would have liked less veggies, potato and a larger portion of fish. (This is the reason I gave a very good rating instead of excellent). Larger portion of fish please.More

There is a reason this place has a good rep! I feel as if it has been around forever- but it definitely did not feel "dated!" Friendly service and yummy food ( and drinks.) Slightly pricey for the food and drinks but would still recommend....Prices were not outrageous and the location alone made it worth it. We went at lunch time before the summer season- I hope to go back during the summer! The "street manager " was super friendly and made the experience even better!More

This is our go to place on the cape. My wife is from here and this place has great food all around. I will start with the tacos. My wife and I love the shrimp tacos and last time I had the tuna tacos which...were amazing. Now lets discuss their clam chowder which in my opinion is the best I've ever had, bar none.More
While visiting the Cape Cod area, we had lunch at the Black Cat Tavern. This is a nice place and apparently is a local favorite. I ordered the Cornmeal Cod and my wife tried the Baked Sea Scallops. Our entrees were very tasty and they...hit the spot. The food and service is very good here. Natalia did a great job. I would recommend this place.More
