We were staying at a nearby hotel and did an online search for a local place to have dinner. We were so lucky to have found a great pub. Despite us being late, we were still able to order food from the kitchen and chose a rare beef salad, burgers and fish and chips. The beef used was amazing for... More

Travelling down the A303 and needing a stop we turned off for Barton Stacey looking for a pub. We were lucky to find the Swan Inn and had an excellent pint and great sandwiches served with proper white cloth napkins. Great welcome. Highly recommended.

We stopped off here for lunch on our way to Center Parcs Longleat. We visited this place some time ago during the winter and was greeted by a lovely roaring fire. The lunch menu was quite extensive offering such things as smoked salmon or goats cheese salad, sandwiches, paninis, omelettes etc. I chose the bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich which... More

My first visit to the Swan. I was pleased to find lots of parking, very pleasant outdoor garden at the front and a warm welcome inside. Everything was clean and well presented. It is a Freehouse and they offer a wide range of real ales and local produce. But I was taken back to a previous life in Germany in... More

Travelling back from Devon along the A303 on a beautiful early spring day in March 2017, we came off the dual carriageway a few minutes, to find a typical Hampshire village and the Swan at its a heart was a real result. We booked a table for lunch with Suzie ,mine host & wife to Sean the very obviously talented... More

We arranged to meat half way between our Son and Daughter in law and us just off the A303. The Swan is about 2 minutes off that road on the edge of the very pretty village of Barton Stacey. We were greeted by Susie and shown to our window table. It was quite busy but she coped very well. We... More

Visited twice. Friday night was really busy and they were short of staff but this was explained and although we waited quite a while for our meals they were delicious.
