original style sourdough bread using no yeast. Yum. I hear it's even good for those avoiding gluten.

We love this place and our only regret is that we live on the west coast and only get to visit this place every 5 years when it is school reunion time in Great Barrington. This is the original baker and is not a restaurant however they do have a restaurant in another location, to which we have not been.... More

Stopped in after seeing the place featured on tv series, Cooked. We bought herb and cheese bread rolls which are butterly delicious. While there we ate these little puff pastry elephant ears which melted in our drooly mouths. We will be back for the pizzas.

On our way going north, we made sure to drive to the Bershire Bakery after seeing the Cooked episode by Michael Pollen. Amazing owner, loves his bread..all made with sourdough...one must try to resist in buying all.. try the spelt muffins , Richard grinds is own grains, can't ask for better.

Recently stopped at this bakery at the request of a family member who saw the show and asked us to buy some items as we passed through. We stopped around 10:30 am midweek and were the only customers in the store. We were happy we found the place and asked the middle aged counter person for assistance. Without getting into... More

The croissants are light, buttery, and so good. Richard and his crew are wonderful bakers. They have a sourdough crust take home to bake pizza and breads and homemade soups. Everything is well above average fare.
