I've been to Allium many times, making the trip from about 40 minutes away. It's always really good food, and I typically end up with the same server who's attentive yet relaxed. I'll continue to visit, I love it!

My advice. Do make reservations and go early, before they run out of things. The menu changes depending on what is available. I had the most delicious yellow beet soup drizzled with cream fraiche and EVOO. Then I had a roasted trout with the most delicious puree and some local veggies. Dessert was a to die for chocolate budin. The... More

We ate dinner at this restaurant at the recommendation of our inn keeper. It has a nice atmosphere with a large open area to the street outside. The limited menu was a tad disappointing, mostly small plates and a few main dishes. The portions were quite small. It was busy and definitely had a popular vibe. The burger was unique... More

Allium is an amazingly nice little restaurant in Great Barrington that has an atypical vibe for the area - kind of hipster, perhaps. Tattoos and loud crowds at the bar are not unusual despite a leaning towards more upscale fare. We went with friends who summer in the area at their recommendation. Seated promptly and had a nice table in... More

This restaurant has undeserved pretentiousness. Our waiter, although friendly, was slovenly dressed. There was no bread fort the table. I ordered the fried chicken and the portion size was smaller than most children plates in other restaurants. The place is noisy and I don't know why it is so popular, but you do need a reservation. The menu prices were... More

We hadn't been in awhile and my teenage daughter and I wanted to dine somewhere we hadn't been recently. The hostess seated up promptly and with a smile in the bar area. The waitress greeted us within a couple minutes and took a drink order. We started with the popcorn; good flavor, but too salty for us and little on... More

Limited entrees especially for vegetarians. Many options are either quite spicy or rich. Portions were small- generally overpriced.

Allium is probably my most frequented restaurant in the Berkshires. The staff go out of their way to make you feel appreciated and well taken care of at every visit. The food is excellent. I would recommend anything on the menu. My favorites are the fried pickles red onions with aioli sauce as an appetizer followed by the fish tacos.... More

Allium has a very odd menu composed of appetizer choices, assorted small plate and a few large plate selections. The choices are somewhat southwestern with fish tacos, somewhat vegan with kale salad, and quite a bit of an odd assortment. But the good news is that everything we tried was delicious. We ordered six or seven small plate selections which... More
