Maria and her staff do a great job here. A tight, tasty menu that offers one great dish in cat agonies like seafood, steak, and chicken. The grilled calamari is 5 star. The wine list offers a great value. We have been dining here for years and will continue to do so.

A real surprise to find this A+ restaurant in downtown Gloucester. The food and service was excellent. My husband adored the hamburger and freshly cut fries and my halibut was wonderful. I had walked past this restaurant several trips to Gloucester in the past and I'm so glad that I finally go to try it.

An "old guard "great that still keeps on keeping on. Main Street establishment putting out great dishes in a most comfortable and cozy setting. Consistent cuisine with inviting specials depending on night. Continues to shine despite new "comers" competition. Still great even after of their Boston Independence. Check out their web site.

Maybe we just caught the chef on a bad night but both my wife and I had dinner that was just fair. We both had fish. My haddock had very little seasoning and was on top of spinach and potatoes- not very imaginative. My wife had the salmon that was not hot enough.

All good-drinks, wine, food, and service. We ate there on a Sunday evening, busy but not excessively so. The restaurant seats about 35+ people, with seats at the bar. Pleasant ambiance, upbeat vibe. We had the tuna and the filet mignon-both get very high grades. Highly recommended

Outpost of a series of restaurant starting with Franklin Boston that dot the Boston landscape. High value for high money. Franklin continues to be the standard bearer for high dining in Gloucester. Sit at the bar if you are in a hurry or don't have a reservation. Interior is a little dark.

Consistently excellent, with interesting and varied menu and super drinks. And they have Roussanne on the wine menu, which almost no one does, which is such a great find. Only downside is that the upstairs dining room, which is visually the nicer with high ceilings, large window views, and cool art, can get deafeningly loud.

Don't miss this great gem of a restaurant in downtown Gloucester! We grabbed a late night dinner and it was perfect. Cocktails were good and the fresh oysters were excellent, the warm matchsticks zucchini, homemade mozzarella & tomato are a must! Waitress was very nice, friendly and excellent service!
