An Authentic Mexican Restaurant in the heart of Gloucester

Our family has eaten at Jalapeno's since it opened. The service is good and there is something for everyone on the menu. The portions are generous and the selection is large. While my family generally orders the entres I love the soups and salads- My favorite is the Tortilla Soup- It has chicken... read more

Jalapeños has consistently offered the most delicious, authentic Mexican food in the area for many years. Chile Rellenos, Pollo (chicken) con Mole sauce, Tortills soup with fresh chopped avocado, Shrimp Cilantro, Cactus Salad ... This ain't no Taco Bell, and TexMex is not on the memo. Gloucester is a great small city and Jalapenos spices it up perfectly.

One of my favorite places in the downtown area! The Mexican food here is so good! I have tried many things on the menu but the Gary's Dip is a must try in my eyes! I love it all from their soup, salads to main meals! You can't go wrong!!

Visited Jalapeños for dinner whilst visiting high school friends in Gloucester, from England. I had the Fajitas just like I always had and was not disappointed. The Margharitas are awesome 😊. Friendly service and great service, what's not to like??? 😊

This place is great! Really good quality, clean, friendly service, nice decor, reasonable prices, generous portions. What more could you want? Went with a friend. Split a salad with lime vinaigrette. Wonderful fresh avocado, tomato combo. We both had Cheese Enchiladas smothered in onions. We each got a different sauce. Both so fine. Came with mashed beans and rice. MMMMMMMM!... More

We'd been a couple of times in the past, and decided to go back recently. Wow, how things had changed. The prices were ridiculously high, for small portions of badly cooked/prepared food that didn't taste good. The salsa was almost all tomatoes, with little of anything else, and almost no flavor. The Guac had more tomatoes than any we've ever... More

We got seated right away and they provided chips and salsa which were fine. We got the queso dip appetizer and it was okay. I ordered chicken enchiladas and was very under impressed. There was really no flavor in the meal and I was trying to add salsa - it was still just really bland. My friend got a different... More

We were looking for non-seafood in the midst of a seafood filled New England vacation and this fit the bill. Seemed to be a lot of locals eating and we know why. Not the best Mexican food we've had, but all agreed it was very good. We found the salsa to be a bit different, but not in a bad... More

So it's not the most authentic Mexican food I've had. They do get 5 stars for service. The apricot glazed wings are amazing, soooo good. However, the rest of our meals were less than desirable. I've been here before about a year ago and the food was incredible so maybe they had a bad night in the kitchen. Who knows,... More
