For all the advertising and hoopla I've always found this place a tourist trap. Boston has plenty of good down home reasonably priced sea food places that don't rip you off and then want you to thank them for it. Arrogance and hubris are the stars of the legal way. Far from their humble beginnings. Go anywhere else while visiting... More

We went the other night with another couple and I was reminded clearly of why my wife and I rarely go there anymore. The bar's ok... high energy, lots of seating, some TV's but the dining room just so lacks any ambience. It's antiseptic and too well lit. For some reason, they have all the wait staff focused on two... More

I was looking forward to dinner at Legal Seafoods, especially with an eye for fried clams - always a favorite of mine. It's difficult these days to find a restaurant outside the New England area that serves good fried clams with "bellies" for the sad reason that clams with bellies don't freeze well. What most places call fried clams are... More

The restaurant was recommended to us by friends. I don't usually like chain restaurants but this was an excellent choice. The seafood casserole which I had was excellent as was the salmon the others in our party had. As well the service was friendly and helpful.

Always a great place to eat, especially if you're looking for Gluten free. I've eaten at Legal Seafood for over 40 years, starting with their first restaurant at Inman Square in Cambridge, MA. Sadly, there isn't one where we currently live. So a return trip to the Boston area made this our first stop. In D.C. a few months ago... More

Had another great Legal meal, this time trying the large shellfish sampler - the "treasure reef" (see picture). Of course, I also had to start with a mug of the classic lobster bisque (I don't arrive or leave Logan airport without stopping off at the Legal counter in Terminal B for this taste treat at least every month). Extraordinary service... More

Solid seafood experience which is good because this chain restaurant has slipped recently. This time around service was great and so was the food. Seafood casserole was great as was the clam chowder.

The staff was very friendly and gave me a warm welcome. The overall experience was very enjoyable. Great offerings as usual but the service was the standout. The clam chowder was memorable and the main course was a good portion (rainbow trout char grilled with mashed potatoes and mushrooms). The bonbons were great for a quick dessert. Would definitely recommend... More

Ordered the grilled platter and fresh boiled lobster. Both were delicious!! Can't go wrong with any of the selections offered at this fine establishment. Coming from Colorado where "good" seafood is not always available, Legal is a must visit to satisfy our need for cold water lobster! Service was very attentive and will come back as soon as we return... More
