Imperial China on route 9 is an older restaurant with a nice bar area. Service is good, at times a little slow. Luncheon specials are excellent for less than nine dollars. Szechuan beef was good, but needed a bit more "hot and spicy." It came...with won ton soup, an egg roll, vegetable fried rice and the beef and vegetable dish. $8.95. Many other dishes. Worth the trip.More

While visiting in Massachusetts, we stopped for lunch at Imperial China in Framingham. Our party of four arrived at noon and were seated right away. Within a few minutes the tables were mostly full. The dining room is bright and airy with plenty of room...between tables. No crowding. We all ordered from the lunch menu which came with choice of soup (really good egg drop and hot and sour), choice of veggie fried rice or white or brown, and choice of egg roll or spring roll (both were really good). For our entrees we had Ma La Chicken (very spicy), steamed veggies with shrimp, shrimp with black bean sauce (made mild by request) and scallops with black bean sauce (made very spicy by request). All the dishes were very good. The service was fast and efficient and the whole staff was very friendly. We would certainly return on future visits to the area.More

I haven't been back here since I retired. I used to go regularly since my business was nearby. I have to say that it's nice to see that the high quality of food, drink and atmosphere has been maintained. Kudos to the owners.

It’s been a long time since we stopped at Imperial China and on the spare of the moment we decided to give it a try for dinner. Great choice. The soups were excellent and the main courses right on. I had the Sesame Crispy Beef...which is a take on Tangerine Crispy Beef which that I would ask to have made hotter the next time I order it as they prepare their spicy dishes mild with a note they can do it as spicy as you would like. Our next visit will be a call a day ahead as we want to try their Peking Duck which you normally don’t get good Peking Duck outside of China Town in Boston.More

I have taken out and eaten in for about 15 years and finally the last take out order did me in. I ordered boneless spare ribs and they were so chewy I had to toss most of the order out. It appears they have not...found a supplier with any quality. The fried rice had the same pork form the same vendor that supplied the boneless ribs so BINGO the fried rice contained chewy pork. To my chagrin I will need to continue to visit my favorite place in Brookline. TOO BAD we have about 8 Chinese marginal restaurants in Framingham. As our commander and Chief would text..... so sad, so sad.More

We got take out from here on New Years Eve and I was very underwhelmed. Here are the dishes we enjoyed: hot and sour soup, pan fried peking ravioli and the veggie lo mein, that's about all I liked. Unfortunately the dished we didn't like...outnumbered the ones we did. The boneless spare-ribs were bland with very little sauce, the outside of the crab rangoon were pale white and the while the filling was decent overall they weren't very good, the beef teriyaki was AWFUL, the egg rolls were average and the chicken fingers were mostly shell and the chicken was a bit rubbery. It wasn't absolutely horrible but I wouldn't go or order from here again.More

The food at Imperial China on Route 9 in Framingham tasted as if it had been precooked and reheated rather than prepared from scratch. The egg rolls felt and tasted as if they had been prepared ahead and reheated, probably in a microwave. They definitely...had not come right out of the deep fryer as they should have. The fried rice was overly dry and our main courses tasted bland. Our server seemed to either be having a bad day or just not interested in his job. The restaurant was quite empty and we can understand why.More

The advantage of this suburban Asian is that you get a choice of Japanese or Chinese menus. The maki rolls were good and could have used a little more seasoning and fresh fish. The Chinese entries were generous (beef and lamb dishes with noodles) but...were heavy on the sauce and light in the seasoning and vegetables. The major downside was a crowded bar that was loud and impeded the regular dining experience. All in all, not bad and you can do better.More

We live close, can even walk here. Food is always good to very good. The owners and waitstaff are very friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere. We feel at home. Prices very reasonable. If we want a night out with good food, good prices, welcoming staff,...and a homey feeling, this is where we go.More
