After searching for a solid early morning breakfast spot in Falmouth, Mary Ellen’s Portuguese Bakery had all of the requirements with amazing sounding food, opening very early and close to where we were staying. The location is a little obscured by the Dairy Queen which Mary Ellen’s shares the building. The restaurant space is an average size with a small... More

We were very hungry and Mary Ellen's hit the spot. Really liked the Portuguese bread - poached egg was done just right. Good prices and plenty of choices.

This is a cash only dinner-bakery a bit off the tourist beat. Real people and really good food. What we ordered was excellent and the waitress was very nice and efficient. Lots of unusual dishes, but we did not try them. The french toast was great as were the pastries. This is not a fancy place--no designer coffees, etc.

My family and I decided to come here for brunch. I ordered the 2 eggs scrambled, with grilled home fries and corned beef hash. I also ordered a lemon danish. After a reasonable wait, our meals came. The scrambled eggs were a large portion and were nice and fluffy. The corned beef was well prepared and very flavorful. The home... More

This is the place the local tradesmen go for an early breakfast, Cheap fast service. Lunch selections are excellent too. The worker guys usually order some to go after breakfast. Friendly service especially from the boss Mary Ellen Great Portuguese style breads baked fresh by he dad every morning.

It's a small place, but had a great breakfast. The breads were outrageous! We went on a Friday morning and we were seated immediately. Appears to be a destination on Sunday morning lol

We were pleasantly surprised and loved our brunch at Mary Ellen's! It's a small diner with delicious brunch options. The linguica and the Portuguese bread is delicious.

Good breakfast place and lunch place for locals and visitors alike. No frills decor reminiscent of old time cafes. Basic foods for breakfast or lunch are the way to go, including a pastry selection from the display case. My favorite lunch selection is the Caciola with rice and beans. A buttered fresh Portuguese roll accompanies this dish. Yummy! Your wallet... More
