Bland Bland Bland My Wife and I went for dinner and was expecting s little more up scale. Wife had the chicken Napoleon and I had the encrusted cod no flavor at all with either meal. I do have to say the bar service was great even though she spent a lot of time on the phone with the owner over something. I would suggest having a another bar tender to serve the waiters who were waiting patiently. Maybe they spend more time at their restaurant in Easton now We will go back again maybe an off night

Excellent food and service. Almost 5 stars aside from one issue

We love La Cucina and return each year. The website says reservations are a must and they are only held for 10 minutes past the time requested. We made it for 7:30 and arrived at 7:22. The hostess was very nice but told us that our table would be a while as the people eating now were only receiving their entrees. What? Why a reservation then if the timing is that off? Obviously we were not happy but kept our “reservation” and were told we would be texted when table was ready. We walked and shopped and within 20 minutes we were seated so not too bad overall. I think the hostess maybe was a bit overwhelmed. Despite the rough start the rest of the evening was great. Excellent food and service. Great Italian food and the bread and garlic olive oil is tremendous as well. Prices are reasonable to boot.

Our party of 5 had dinner at La Cucina on August 3rd. Considering the social distancing of tables we were able to dine at an inside table at the window so it had a nice outside view. Doris was our server and she could not have been nicer to our group! We ordered multiple items: Caprese Salad, Chicken Marsala, Vegetable Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Ravioli and Veal Saltimbocca. EVERYONE enjoyed their entrees; we all said we would come back for another meal when in the area. The restaurant did a great job of making the guests feel safe regarding the use of masks and sanitation. Kudos to Doris and the entire staff!

Disappointing and Won't Be Back

Disappointing and won't be back. Made reservations for my mothers birthday. Food was just average, service slow but we didn't mind as we had catching up to do. At the end of the meal our waitress offered coffee, which we accepted. No sooner do we put our order in, the Maître D' informs us that there is a party waiting for our table. I politely tell her that we are still waiting for our coffee. She acts surprised and asks "Didn't your server inform you that there is a 1.5 hours limit on all tables?" I tell her that she did not, that it is not our fault the service was so slow but that if she would cancel our coffee order we will pay and leave. The waitress finally comes back and tries to deflect by claiming they are short staffed due to Covid... I get that its hard to find people, but how are you going to impose a 1.5 hour limit on guests when you can't even get the food out in that time? Ruined the birthday dinner honestly. Unbelievable! Will not be coming back and will recommend everyone not to come here.

With dinner reservations made weeks in advance, we arrived expecting to be seated in their front section. Instead, we were seated in their back/side section which is much less pleasing. The music was blaring out of a speaker set directly above the table area where we were seated, and you could barely enjoy conversation. The staff was not what could be described as friendly, and after specials were verbally described we placed our order. The salad course arrived but was so bland it was basically only oily lettuce without any flavor - it was barely edible. The Chicken Picatta was as though you were eating raw chicken. The menu had described a nice coating, dredged in flour, etc....as you would expect. Yet, the plate arrived with a white slab of chicken breast with a slight amount of parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. It had zero flavor or seasoning at all - total bland and boring entree and it was not eaten. The waitress apologized and adjusted the bill, which was nice, but honestly an Italian restaurant with the reviews listed made us question if the issue is due to management or training or just difficulties with staffing. Whatever the problem, this restaurant did not live up to the reviews.

We frequent this restaurant year round, especially in the winter when the tourists have gone home since we live locally. Tonight 5/28 we were dining with another couple from out of state and arrived at our 7:15 reservation on time. We had a delicious dinner and we were given our checks about an hour and 15 minutes later which we promptly gave our credit cards. When our waitress returned with our tabs to sign she proceeded to tell us there were people waiting for our table!!! This is a waitress that has worked there for years and has served us many times. Needless to say we were taken back and actually offended. We had no intention of staying beyond the 90 min limit and didn’t need to be reminded that by our sever.

Tonight's visit just OK

After 5 visits here I have to say i don't get the rave reviews. Tonight we had a party of four. From the start service felt hurried. First drink order not correct. We weren't fond of how they prepare the Calamari appetizer as all the sauce makes it soggy instead of crispy. Entries were all OK but none were outstanding especially for price. 3 of 4 entrees suffered from too much suace, especially the chicken and fish Limone dishes. In the end it didn't feel like a $300 experience.

Went in expecting to have a nice anniversary dinner. There were about 5 tables with people at them and 4 or more waitstaff in the establishment. We we escorted to a table where we sat for the next 15 minuets with no water no service at all, not even i'll be right with you. We watched another table come in after us get served water and drinks and order their meals. After waiting for 15 minuets we left and informed the hostess of the terrible service without any response. She just looked at us and we went out the door. Thus used to be one of our go to restaurants in Falmouth but we won't be back. You get one chance to please a customer and your lousy service has lost you our patronage. Dinning out is about the food and service and you get 0 stars on both as we never got a chance to sample your wares.

outstanding Italian food in Falmouth,Ma.

really had a great meal at this restaurant in Falmouth,Ma. while on vacation. the quality of the food is first class. not the cheapest place in town but when you want to have a good meal it is well worth the few extra dollars. The food is real Italian and I had the best Bolougnes on home made pasta and it was so large that my wife and I split it and it was still more than we could finish. Had misistrone soup which was truly the real deal. They even split the food for us in two seperate dishes which was very nice. The hot rolls were just out of the oven. No room for dessert. recomend this place without question. One of the better places to eat in downtown and if you like Italian you will love this place.

From the moment we walked in, we both realized that we were in for a treat. We ate in the Falmouth center location. We had no reservation but came at 5:ish and boy were they welcoming. We were given a front window seat and blink the best bread with garlic purée in olive oil. Drinks quickly followed and we sat a watched as table by table was filled by more diners. Our waitress was terrific. Her suggestions were right on. We had a warm wilted salad with a macadamia nut, wine dressing. OMG! Our entrees were also perfect. My husband decided on the Chicken Marsala and I got the Chicken Parmesan. Mick said his Irish whiskey was a generous pour and my Italian beer was frosty and hit the spot. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake and REAL whipped cream! Perfection! We were visiting from the North Shore and I have to say our time in Falmouth was lovely.

Both my husband and I have been here before and had excellent chicken dishes. We saw a pizza go by and decided we had to try one. We ordered the shrimp scampi pasta pizza (not on the menu but always available) and it was delicious. You might think the crust would be soggy with all of the toppings but it was not. It was thin and crispy, topped with thinly sliced pearl white garlic, delicious grated cheese, angel hair pasta and shrimp. We were hesitant to eat in a restaurant which we hadn't done in over a year but we got a table by the window with no one near us. But I will say that the tables are very well spaced. They also ask for your name and telephone number just in case covid tracing is necessary, which I think is a great idea. The service was wonderful and the waitress very pleasant. I would highly recommend La Cucina if you are in the area.

A Wonderful Taste of Italy

Taking advantage of a beautiful, warm spring day we drove down to Cape Cod for lunch at La Cucina Sul Mare in downtown Falmouth. We had a wonderful experience here, friendly and efficient staff and waiters, beautiful decor, and a table right next to a window with great views of the main drag. Our waiter promptly greeted us with some bread and oil, we ordered a glass of wine and a Stella draft, after a few minutes we decided to dine on Penne alla Vodka and Chicken Marsala. Another short weight and a few more sips of draft and wine and lunch appeared beautifully plated at the table. Both meals were scrumptious and had more than enough for two meals. Se split a Choclate Canoli for desert which was equally great. We highly recommend a visit to La Cucina Su Mare during your stay on Cape Cod.

Tried this place years ago, it was so so, but thought we would try it again... the waitress was great 👍 the bread with the garlic paste oil was excellent!! I had ravioli and sausage, very good, a little watery but ok, my husband had chicken piccata, it was swimming in water, which made the chicken not so good soggy...Cesar salads to start very safe on the dressing where it was extremely bland..so over all still so-so

Terrible experience!

Haven’t been since the pandemic and the restaurant is no longer what it used to be! Waited for an hour and a half, instead of the promised 45 mins., When we were finally sat at 9 PM, our child was exhausted. Annoyingly, there were 6 open tables, but they squeezed us in a high top that my husband said left him feeling like he was in traffic. It was still so noisy (note, add some soft decor to mute it!) as to be unpleasant. Then, after waiting so long, we were rushed through our meal with brusque waitress service. And the worst part, the food was only OK, although the mussels were good, the rest of the dished were subpar. Oddly, I ordered a season con tail, which was tasty, but it was served in a large red wine glass, instead of a cocktail glass? Definitely not going back, at least until I forget about this most recent terrible experience.

Nice Local Spot for a Good Italian Meal

This is a nice local place to get a good meal. We had a chance to dine here recently. Between us, we sampled a variety of meals from veal parmesan, to lobster ravioli, to fettuccini alfredo with chicken, to tortellini with shrimp. All of our meals were prepared very well. Service was attentive and prices in line with other restaurants. The ambiance is pleasant. Try it, you’ll like it.
