(Last visited 5/6/2022.) Vacationing in Cape Cod and it's about time to head home, but before we do, we absolutely HAD to stop by this gorgeous French bakery right on Main Street since they close earlier in the day. So why not make a breakfast...out of it?! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the main strip near the busy entryway of downtown is this gem. You can smell the fresh baked goods all the way down the street and once you're inside you're IMMERSED in the beauty of all of the hand-crafted goodies that are all made one by one! I LOVED this. Family-owned, created by hand and all baked with love. You don't get that a lot anymore. The decor was simple, straightforward and not too drastic. It really felt like I was back in Bordeaux hoping to find a fresh baguette to go with my wine! Service: Everything is counter-service here so you go up to the counter right near the front door to order. You can ask 1,000,000 questions and they'll keep their patience with you because honestly, there's just SO MUCH STUFF here to gawk at and drool over. Lol. You'll seriously want one or even 2 of everything. Food: During my visit I tried what I believe was a chocolate-filled eclair, a fruit tart and some sort if flatbread-cheesy-pretzel deliciousness. Lol. Everything was spectacular. I won't even get into the specifics, just know they can do no wrong here! Value: It's a French bakery, so you can get a lot for your money here, but it'll add up quickly. In conclusion, I loved this place and had I known it was here earlier in the week I would've tried to convince the wife to take a walk every morning to try something different each day!More

American bread is notoriously naff, but Maison Villatte has fresh, French bread and pastries (both sweet and savoury) every day. The options change daily, everything is fresh and made only with quality ingredients. It's by far the best place for fresh bread and pastries that...I've experienced anywhere in the United States, and perhaps even the UK. Everyone should come and enjoy this authentic French experience!More

The only place in North America I've been that has authentic French pastries. After living in France and the amazing crossants and other pastries, this was awesome. Great baguette sandwiches as well. One of the staff members said they have pastry chefs from France that...make everything. One of my favorite places to eat on the cape.More

We visited on a rainy Tuesday and there was no line, spoke to person behind us and she had been trying for days to get inside without a line, so she was excited. I will say the way they wait on customers is very confusing,...no rhyme nor reason to get waited on because no signage and people just kind of stand around in front of cases and no one can see what there is to offer, so when it’s your turn you feel rushed to make a decision when you have to read the signs near the product. The bakery worker that waited on me was a young man who acted so oddly, I actually thought he was a deaf mute at one point, but he could hear me, my experience was actually ruined, he never said a word to me, just nodded or motioned when he was waiting on me, so odd I ordered 2 lemon tarts which were delicious and a cookie de chocolate, which was good, after that he walked toward the register to box them ( I guess I was finished shopping in his eyes, and then motioned for me to follow him towards the waiting area and ran my credit card on a hand held machine, the receipt popped out jut looked at me to grab it and walked away……wow, the oddest experience ever. I worked in a bakery for 47 years and just couldn’t believe it.More

First, this place is beautiful. Everything they make looks like it belongs in a museum. The best croissants I’ve ever had along with a little glass jar of jam…holy cow. The pasty stuffed with ham and cheese was also amazing. I can’t wait to get...back here.More

This french bakery has amazing pastries. Everything I tried was delicious and they were not too sweet. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality. I also bought a loaf of soft butter bread and it was delicious. It is better to go early in...the morning for a better selection as they sell fast. Also be prepared to stand in line for a long time but worth it. Just buy a lot and enjoy!More

So delicious! I don’t even know the name of what we ordered, a couple of lunch items, not sandwiches, one was a croissant and the other similar to a pizza. We also ordered macarons, a baguette, and a chocolate chip cookie. We are still talking...about how delicious it was a week later. Try it! I wish we lived closer, we would be here all the time.More

The most amazing bakery/cafe this side of “the pond”. However, the service is awful! You wait in line at least 15 minutes even if there are only 2 people in front of you! They must come up with a better system to wait on people!
