3 of us ordered cod. It was undercooked! had no flavor. I’ve been there a few times it was outstanding. Mimi the bartender was outstanding. But the food was a big disappointment. My other friend ordered the taglioni w/ scallops. The scallops were over cooked...and no flavor in the pasta. The food needs some salt.More

I don’t understand why people have rated this place so highly. Perhaps people have lived here their whole lives and are unaware of not good, but DECENT Italian cuisine. Because even calling it decent is a stretch. We came in and the server we had...avoided us like the plague. There wasn’t even cold water, just room temp tap. But, as to not egg this on (because otherwise I’ll be here all day) I’ll talk about the food. The carbonara had texture like a hard shoelace and for the record that’s not what it’s supposed to be. The tortellini had a strong after taste of nutmeg which although not a terrible option, was so strong that I felt like although I just ate pasta, I just swallowed a damn snickers bar. Lastly, the daily special( I believe it was closely called Scopio not exactly sure) although it has a somewhat ok taste, it seems a little ludicrous to pay 33 dollars for two pieces of shrimp and pasta considering it’s quality. If I could give 0/5 I would.More

Trip advisor is making it very difficult to write this review. Every time I switch screens to review the menu, I lose what I have already written. This was my first visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere and service made for an enjoyable experience. That...being said, I will never return. I am particular about tomato sauce when I eat out in Italian restaurants. I always request a sample of the sauce to taste with bread. If I don't like it, I order something else. The waitress cheerfully complied with my request. The portion was a bit larger than I expected. The taste was delicious. The others with me found it to be delicious as well. Two of us ordered the Tagliatelle (Bolognese) because we wanted something a bit more substantial than just pasta and sauce. Another in our party ordered the eggplant. But she wasn't sure if she would like the paprika gravy. The waitress said she would have it put on the side and if she didn't like it she would bring her the tomato gravy. She didn't like the paprika gravy. She asked if they could just reheat the remaining tomato sauce for her to use. The waitress took the one we had and said "I will just get you another one". We enjoyed the meal. When the bill arrived, there were several things listed that surprised us. There was a charge of $14 for 2 bottles of water. We asked for and were served tap water. There was also a charge for $10($5 X 2) for other food. What was this other food? I thought it might be the bread. The waitress said that this was for the tomato sauce. Huh? In all my years, I have only had this happen rice. And the charge was something like 50 cents, almost silly. But, this time we were charged for the first sample, then charged for the second sauce when reheating what was left would have been more than enough. I am an Italian American. I have eaten in Italy many times. I get it that pasta is the prima piata. So I don't expect it to be a large portion. But, it was adequate. This is an expensive restaurant. The pasta will cost around $25. Your meat dish will cost around $30. A salad will cost around $15. A desert will cost around $15. That's $85 before tax and tip. Very close to $100/person without drinks or beverages. Add to that, the charge for water and a sample of tomato sauce. Is it worth that? Not to me!More

The specialty of the day was a lasagne bolognese. It was the world's finest lasagne: homemade light-as-a-feather pasta with a delicate sauce. I normally don't eat pasta because it is too heavy, but this was an elegant surprise. I've known this restaurant for years and...thought it was just average. After a long hiatus, it was delightful to try it again. The ambiance is charming with unfussy but attractive art. A truly authentic family-run Italian restaurant.More

A group of five friends had a lovely evening from start to finish. The caprese salad was large and fresh. Each of us ordered a different main course including the nightly special and the bolognese. The serving size was perfect for a multi-course meal and...each dish was well prepared. The service was attentive, but not overbearing, resulting in a relaxed pace. If you go, be sure to try the gelato. It reminded me of Italy in the best way. The atmosphere was candlelit and cozy.More

We went to Osteria La Civetta (little owl) for my wife’s birthday. It was fabulous. The drinks, the appetizers, the dinners, deserts. Even the bread. Kelly, our server, was perfectly attentive and even brought us a little owl to sit with us on our table!...Really, not a single thing I would change! Bravo.More

I don't go out to eat often, so I really look forward to a great experience when I do. I'd read all the positive reviews and when friends came to town it seemed like the perfect place to eat. I ordered the seafood stew. It...looked and tasted more like canned Spaghettios. At 30.00 for a tiny serving, I guess I thought I would get a couple of clams, mussels, calamari, scallops and a piece of fish like the menu said. Not sure if things were minced or what but it was definitely not as expected. I didn't recognize the seafood and the sauce wasn't flavorful at all. I was trying to love this place.More

Yes they do and the bar area is very small but intimate where you will most likely get to talk to a local or far off traveler.
