We usually get the fisherman's platter and this one beats any of the area restaurants . We drive right by the Clam box and Woodman's at least once a month for this great local place. Forget the tourist traps and try Essex Seafood!

Finally after years of living in the area I finally made my way to Essex Seafood. I was always a Farnham's girl for fried clams (because of course there is no better place ON THE PLANET for clams that Essex) but went to Essex Seafood on the insistence of a friend. Delicious clams, perfectly fried. Excellent onion rings and pretty... More

Essex is "fried clam alley" and Essex Seafood fits right in. I like Haddock and I had the freshest fried Haddock there. The setting is informal, familiar to us who eat seafood on Cape Ann. Meal prices are to market for fresh fish. Modern techniques prep and flash freeze on the catch boat. That is a lower meal price and... More

My husband and I go to Essex Seafood in Essex, MA, a few times a year. Sometimes we eat in and sometimes we do take out. We did takeout of few nights ago and it was as fantastic as ever. I always get my favorite: lobster roll, cole slaw and French fried potatoes. My husband tries different plates and he... More

I went to Essex Seafood for the first time this year and it was as good as ever. I got my favorite food item, the Haddock Boat which comes with your choice of French fries or onion rings. There is another food choice where you can get French fries and onion rings. I also got a clam chowder which was... More

Fresh seafood deliciousness, to go or to eat in the rough. Nice folks in the kitchen and at the counter. If you want a beer or a glass of wine bring your own and enjoy. Yummy!

This had been recommended by friends so we tried it. I guess if you like fried food it's alright, but there was way too much batter on our fried clams & onion rings - french fries were fair. I probably would not go back.

I have been to Essex Seafood one million times in my life but this is only my second time this summer, through no fault of my own as I do not own a car. The food is delicious and the portions are plentiful. There are two meal options, boats and plates. Plates have French fries and onion rings, Boats just... More

I was in the area for business and asked locals for a non tourist focused seafood recommendation and was directed here. It was just what I wanted. If you are looking for fancy table cloths and formal atmosphere you will be disappointed as you will eat with plastic ware, plastic cups and paper plates. However, there is a cool car... More
