This place has been here a while, thought it was just for the older crowd. Last time we went was thirty years ago. Was an older crowd then. But, that's me now after all... Stopped for lunch with friends and were pleasantly surprised. Older crowd and younger crowd, go figure. Varied menu, had a hard time deciding. Very pleasant wait... More

We stopped into The Village Restaurant on a Tuesday Afternoon and hit the jackpot for Fried Clams. Tuesday was their Fried Clam special day. So delicious and absolutely, the Ipswich-Essex Clams are the best in the WORLD! Our waitress was really nice, friendly and helpful. After being seated in the warm Greenhouse room (so nice), she brought hot rolls straightway.... More

Loved the food, service was excellent. I do not like seafood. The person I was with loves seafood and goes to the Village often. The food I had was very good.

If you like good seafood at reasonable prices, this is one of the best places to stop on Cape Anne. Lots of choices and they all look good. Whether you like fried, baked, or broiled, there is something for everyone here. The staff is very attentive and did not rush us out at closing time.

Constant Companion and I have driven by the Village Restaurant probably a hundred times. It has always seemed popular(based on the number of cars parked out front) but we had always stopped earlier to eat somewhere else. Finally, we gave the Village Restaurant a try and we were rewarded for our decision. CC ordered two House Chardonnays(Beringer) @ $6.99 each--very... More

Loved this family style restaurant - comfortable and laid back! We were treated to excellent service and great meals. The calamari appetizer was delicious and plenty for three people easily. The baked haddock was perfectly prepared and very rich, just the way I like it. The steak tip salad was perfect for the non-seafood diner!

This family owned restaurant has been in Essex MA for decades. In a town full of seafood restaurants, Village Restaurant is at the top of the heap. From steamed clams to lobster pie, their seafood is as good as it gets. Fried, boiled, steamed - however you like it. I'd suggest making a reservation because I've never been there when... More
