Jackie and her staff are so helpful and accommodating. They are flexible about dietary restrictions and willing to go the extra mile to make sure their customers get what they need. They welcome feedback and are always looking for ways to improve their store and...selections. It is a pleasure to shop there and support their store. There are also great selections of gluten and dairy free items, and they have the best drinks to bring to the beach or enjoy at home.More

We watched the Katama General Store transform from a very modest, rustic oversized shed that specialized in creating "sandwiches for your picnic at South Beach" into the impressive structure that you see today. The KGS continues to evolve and, this year, we appreciated the upgraded...outdoor dining area that is made up of 4? classic picnic tables with umbrellas protected by raised beds on three sides that contain spectacular plantings. And then there's the wraparound porch, which was the best part of the major renovation a few years back. Comfortable rockers are strategically placed throughout this spacious outdoor area that is protected by the elements and provided shelter when we got caught in the rain during a bike ride recently; there is plenty of parking for bikes in racks in the front and for cars on the side. I have not been as impressed by the offerings inside; admittedly, I have not made a significant effort to purchase those items that are available. In an effort to meet the trends of the day, the goods may be perceived as too upscale and overpriced. That said, I did enjoy snacking on the innovative, women-founded CoolHaus ice cream sandwich. I have not indulged on the separately advertised pizza and sushi nights so I cannot speak to the quality of the dinner fare. I can't help but feel that the Katama General Store has great potential; all of the ingredients are there for it to be an island gem. If the KGS continues to evolve in positive ways, you will continue to see me rocking on the porch!More

Nasty people, inefficient and expensive. Much better places near buy. Do not take children - no kids portions or sizes.

Stopped by here on recent extended stay at nearby Winnetu and hands down the best Lobster roll during my stay on the island. Completely unexpected too. Also has a good array of general store items, as well as actual food and wine/beer. Great place to...stop and pick up supplies .... and that lobster roll!!!!More

This is a great spot for ice cream and other necessaries for the beach (South Beach/Katama) - not cheap but very good.

There's hardly any pre-prepared food and the shelves aren't stocked well but maybe that's because they're so busy?

Best breakfast sandwich on the island - and it is very reasonably priced! Quick service, great coffee! While you are there you can get cheese and a bottle of wine or freshly prepared sandwiches to bring with you to South Beach. It is fun to...sit on the new porch and people watch or read the paper or have a snack.More

Very narrow selection. Extremely high prices. Food is only average. Only benefit is that it is on the way to the beach otherwise would never stop ind

Mediocre food and overpriced. The only place on the way to South Beach. Really nice new porch though.

You can get a quick bite on your way to South Beach, have lunch on the patio or just stop in for an ice cream or something you forgot.
