Beautifully decorated restaurant, historic site, service is excellent and every thing we ordered was delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a fabulous dinner here during our recent trip to Martha's Vineyard - we were celebrating my birthday. All of our interactions with the restaurant (when making reservations etc) were professional and friendly. When we arrived, we felt as if we had traveled through...time.... sheer elegance. Take a few minutes to look at the gallery before or after dinner. We dined on the Terrace (so outside) but it was elegant and we felt like we were contiguous with the restaurant. We splurged... on the caviar and the lobster special, and some nice wine. But we really felt special as well. A nice touch was a small cake they brought out for my birthday. Definitely recommend - the food and the service and the overall experience. Our only regret was that we did not choose to stay at the Charlotte Inn (and instead made a very unwise choice...) - I can only imagine how special it would be to stay at this quite unique and elegant place.More

This is one of the best dining experiences I have had in many years! The Terrace is a charming airy restaurant in the elegant Charlotte Inn. Cocktails and wine are served in crystal goblets; the fine china is French and the wait staff discrete. Best...of all is Chef Patrice Martineau's classic french cuisine - from Champagne - is superb. I had the most delicate vichyssoise something I rarely ordered except in France. The best! A halibut was perfectly seasoned and an Ile Flottante was ethereal. Can't say enough. I lived in France for years and love cooking - you won't be disappointed.More

This was the second time (Not my idea) that I came with a group of friends for a New Year's Eve dinner. This time the food was edible, although 5 of the 6 at our table passed on the soup. Overall, the atmosphere is warm...and beautiful, but the food was average at best, the service was slow and the cost of this experience was excessive. There will not be a third visit to The Charlotte Inn!More

Very pricey but absolutely impeccable . From the ambiance, to the service and let’s not forget the remarkable selection and food presentation! I highly recommend this as a very special place to be shared with great friends and or family members that lean toward being...foodies.More

Perhaps my favourite restaurant on the Vineyard. It never disappoints so we visit it several times each summer. The food is superb, the wine list offers good choice without being pretentious and the waiters are knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a lovely restaurant with wonderful staff and a system of serving (no teamwork) that's just terrible. After 2 hours we couldn't get coffee and a check which mattered as we were on the last ferry. Food, by the way, is terrific. They can...fix this as there is more than enough staff and some simply stand around as though this is a union shop.....which surely it's not. I wouldn't returnMore

My partner and I went here last night. Started with a cocktail in the Green Room which is like stepping into yesteryear. Then moved to the covered dining room which has a wonderful Victorian eclectic atmosphere. The servers were superb and the food out of...this world delicious. Menu changes regularly but we had Foie Gras to start and no word can describe what a pleasure this was as a bite. Then we had a summer pasta and the special lamb chops. Better than the Foie Gras. Dessert based on S’mores delicious also. If you are on the Vineyard this place is a must but expect to pay the price for excellence.More

Absolutely stunning restaurant in decor and service.... it’s a relais chateaux hotel restaurant.... there’s a dress code.... it’s a warm night so I would recommend the inside which is beautiful.... the appetizers (shrimp cocktail n the beet salad n the cucumber gazpacho) were all delicious.......the entree (chicken and the swordfish) are unfortunately slightly underwhelming n slightly dry considering they were $40 each....our waiter and the managers are exceptional in service.... I didn’t give it 5 stars ultimately because the food for $100 a person with no wine and desert could be a bit more spectacular .... overall still a very enjoyable eveningMore
