This is a great pub. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the food is delicious. The dining room is spacious and there are seating areas outside the pub which look over the gardens and a nice pond, complete with water lilies

I went as a guest with a friend for a lunchtime time treat, the sun was shining and we went in and were warmly greeted by the bar staff. That's always a good start! It wasn't over busy so we had plenty of tables to choose from. I ordered a fish, chip and mushy peas main meal and my friend... More

We called here one lunch time after finding the previous pub closed. The pub was quite busy but they did find us a table inside.Staff very pleasant, and a good selection of real ales. Both meals very good and not to long to wait seen the pub was busy.I had the sausage and mash very nice. The pub as a decking area outside... Super evening with family. Lovely comfortable pub with plenty of space so not sitting on top of next table. Eight people had different starters and mains all really enjoyed the food which was presented beautifully. Food served fresh and hot. Excellent menu choices and the service was brilliant. Looking forward to next visit.

Sandwich menu very limited. Tries to be clever but ends up disappointing. No basics like ham or cheese or beef but stodgy mix of thick mayo on a chicken bacon bagel. Doesn't say this on menu. No mention of the mayo but as it's pre mixed bits there's no option to leave it out. Over ripe thick tomato mixed into... More

It was very easy to book a table at the Hand and Trumpet as it could be done online. I would say the pub is a little high end but that is good as it's somewhere nice to have a meal with a partner or to celebrate a special occasion with friends/ family. Both the alcohol and food is great... More

A lunchtime visit with friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair. Easily accessible and we were immediately given a warm, friendly greeting and helped to a suitable table. I have been visiting this pub for several years now, and have never been let down by the food or service. The interior is spacious, inviting and tasteful. This was yet... More

We booked here for a tues night. It was a birthday celebration so didn't want to miss out although we may have been ok for a table anyway. The pub in general was busy and we had our table for 8pm. The food and service were great and moderately priced. The portion sizes matched and I would say that it... More

We have been to this pub a few times and have never been disappointed. The service is good and the menu changes every now and then so there is usually something new to try as well as the usual menu regulars. The food is always of a good standard and the setting is cosy and comfortable with a nice decked... More

Cant think of any negatives really; although perhaps; product knowledge for the staff; as they werent able to answer a few questions we had without... More
