Great pulled pork sandwich but wife's ribs seemed a bit undercooked. Decent beer selection. They have tator tots rather than fries for a side. Id rather fries personally but the tots were ok, Service was good but Average place overall

We enjoyed our lunch here. With Covid it was not crowded. The food was very good. We love having Clam Chowder at different places and this one did not disappoint!

We ordered takeout for the first time from the Cleat and Anchor. The order was for tater tots, chicken finger and chicken pot pie. The tater tots were good; but not as crispy as I like. My wife did not like her chicken fingers; said...they needed seasoning. We both thought the chicken pot pie was too salty. The barbecue sauce we ordered with the chicken fingers was good. Overall...I would not recommend these dishes.More

We went because of the beer list. They had two stouts on tap in September! It had an excellent selection of craft beers. Unfortunately, that was the highlight. The food is rather bland. My wife had a burger and quit eating after a few bites...because "it didn't have any taste, not even the tomato and onion". My ribs were fine, and a large portion. The clam chowder was good, with crumbled bacon on top. The decor is very basic, just a concrete floor, wood paneling, and no real ambience. The table was sticky. It just felt dispiriting. Service was friendly. The portions are large and the prices are good value, rare for the Cape.More

February 22,2020. Dinner for two, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, no alcohol $61.79. Went on the recommendation of gluten-free menu as one guest has celiac. Ordered the chowder to start. Not usually found on menus as GF, so happy to try it. Found it...to be tasty, and full of that which makes for a good seafood chowder. It wasn’t as warm as it could have been when it reached the table, but was enjoyable. The fish and chips (GF) arrive with tater tots instead of fries; an interesting twist as french fries don’t contain gluten. Regardless, excited to see fish and chips on the menu, although the quality of fish left a little to be desired as two of the three pieces where tough and a little chewy. The dessert menu had only two items from which to choose. We split the flourless chocolate cake; the GF offering for the evening. Clearly the “ring ding” looking potion of cake had been heavily refrigerated and would have been better had it been warm instead of nearly frozen. The service was disappointing as it lacked attentiveness for a slow night. Water glasses stood empty and the coffees we ordered with dessert arrived with the check. The Cleat and Anchor offered live music which was appropriate for the setting, and not overpowering. A plus for the bar crowd. For the off season, the experience was average.More

Not only is the food really good, but they have some great gluten free options. Some of the portion sizes are sometimes easily enough for two meals. Even if I wasn't gluten free, their fried calamari appetizer is very good. Also, their fish and chips...are very good. From their menu: ""CHICKEN-FRIED" FISH & CHIPS Fresh Cod double battered, and deep fried. Served with Chesapeake-style tots" Very good, and sometimes it is two meals' worth of fish. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer My only negative, is that their heating system isn't great, so if it is below 40 degrees outside, you might get a cold table.More

Nice atmosphere, separation between bar area and dining tables. Sea food was fresh and well prepared. Service was fine. Large TV’s around the bar area. Will visit again.

Nice atmosphere. Sat at the bar. Lots of beer on tap with a good wide variety. We both had seafood which was fresh and cooked just right.

Went for a family dinner to the Cleat & Anchor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was very good and our waiter was attentive. Food was very good as well and the portions were large! Family-friendly, with flexible seating to accommodate groups of all sizes....The restaurant is a little loud, but it's an acoustics issue (vaulted ceilings). Beer selection was very good and includes local beers.More
