The portion sizes are extremely small. I am a slender woman and have a small appetite so coming from me this is very bad. The lamb was red, very undercooked. The dessert was fabulous. They let us try a cracker with cheese and then asked if we wanted for the table and was very expensive. We found the staff snooty.... More

We are disappointed you were unhappy. Our rack of lamb is a signature dish and it is very rare to have a complaint. If you had let us know we would have replaced it. We offer our sincere apologies your evening was not perfect. More

The food was delicious. We also like that the restaurant uses the freshest ingredients in season and most of their wine was organic. We took our two kids, ages 1 1/2 and 4 1/2 with us to dinner and the stuff was more than accommodating in bringing drawing books, crayons and exploration tube for them. We all had a great... More

The food in this restaurant is consistently excellent, using the freshest of ingredients, and prepared to perfection. We love that they take reservations. Have eaten here many times, and tonight brought our family, including a toddler. Everyone on the staff was kind, helpful and accommodating. We love The Red Pheasant and will continue to come here for all of our... More

Excellent food - outstanding at times. Service and ambiance is very good. Always has some type of "game" on the menu - venison, duck, and so forth.

We were with friends that don't get to the Cape very often. We wanted someplace close to the Playhouse and we wanted someplace historic. The Red Pheasant satisfied both requirements even though we had never been there before. When we called to make reservations, the staff was very understanding and when we were a little early, they were very accommodating.... More

Made reservations early in the day - no problem for dinner. We had a delicious meal with a very pleasant server. Started with a shared Caesar salad made with spinach. Lightly dressed which was perfect. Salmon and the pork specials were very tasty. Plenty of fresh vegetables.

We appreciate your nice review, thank you! It means a lot to hear from happy customers. Incidentally the spinach is from the farm down the street, "Not Enough Acres Farm." More

We made reservations several weeks in advanced and even though they had no record of it when we arrived we had no trouble getting a table since it was the off season . The food was absolutely delicious , lovely presentation, excellent attentive service, and a beautiful view of the gardens made for a most pleasant experience.

I adore the Red Pheasant - I've been a patron there for over 5 years (I go every summer) and have never had anything but delicious food and exceptional service. The recipes are inventive but always consistently tasty, and they have a lovely wine list. My favorite dish is the scallops...and don't get me started on the chocolate cake, my... More

There were four of us for dinner on a Monday night, and the parking lot was crowded when we arrived for our 7:30 reservation. The ambience is dark wood, which is what you would expect in a 200-year-old barn. In winter, the fireplace is wonderful. When you make your reservation, ask to be seated in the garden room, which is... More

We've been coming here over 30 years! Bill Atwood, Jr. has kept up the tradition set by his father of providing excellent service and food and has taken it further by offering new takes on old favorites as well as innovative new offerings. This week we scheduled to visit with my cousins who had never been on Cape before. That... More
